EWF at Orchard Central is a good location for a meal! It has a nice ambience and open sitting area, and it allows for a good meal and a good chat with friends at the same time! Just make sure there's no crowd or queue otherwise you might risk being pressured to leave!

This time instead of the Char Siu Burger, I ordered the Har Cheong Kai burger set and I had to say it was a good decision. The fried chicken was crispy and delicious thanks in part to the prawn paste. THe portion of the meat was generous as well! Toppings of tomatoes and lettuce was generous as well in portion. I tried the original fries this time, and although it was decent I think I'll go back to my curry fries the next time!

Everything with Fries! Smile Oct 22, 2013

Looking for an affordable, filling and tasty bite when you're in Orchard? Look no further, for Everything with Fries is here! THe outlet at Orchard Central serves mainly burgers, fries and their tasty line of desserts. Each burger costs around $6,90, and you can add fries and drink for an extra $3 for a total cost of $9.90!

I had the Cha Siu Burger with curry fries! Its basically just a burger with a BBQ Pork patty and boy was it delicious! I wouldn't say that its extremely special in taste, but it was a decent burger that statisfied me. The curry fries were really tasty and the curry taste was strong and appealing. The fries were warm at that point so that contributed to a good experience.

I had a slice of Nutella Tart for dessert! If you're a big fan of nutella, this is the dessert for you. Thick and rich, the taste was strong and the tart really just melts in your mouth. Be careful not to have too much, as the richness can really get to you. Its always good to share it with other friends!

Baker and Cook! Smile Oct 22, 2013   (Related Review)

We already had a go at two main dishes for brunch at Baker and Cook (Eggs Benedict and Spanish Omelette), so this time, we came back for a little dessert! We ordered 2 slices of cake: a slice of carrot cake and a slice of blueberry cheesecake.

Everyone online raves about their carrot cake, and they are absolutely right in doing so. It was simply a delight - it had a moist texture with a rich taste. The cream cheese wasn't too rich and complimented the cake really well and did not overpower the taste of the carrot cake. It was really decent and worthwhile for the price of $4.50 per slice.

The blueberry cheesecake was average and decent, and not too sweet. Although a bit small for a $5 slice, it was satisfying and the portion of fillings and toppings was generous and really made my day. I've heard that the lemon tart is another excellent buy and worth the visit, so maybe I'll try that the next time I visit!

Beautiful Brunch at Baker & Cook Smile Oct 22, 2013

Brunch places seems to be popping up everywhere in Singapore these days, and we tried Baker & Cook at their Bukit Timah location recently! We ordered 2 dishes: Eggs Benedict and the Spanish Omelette.

The spanish omelette is basically an omelette with spinach, peppers, spicy chorizo and cheese and it comes served with 2 slices of Baker & Cook bread. Its a sinfully pleasing dish, with a huge portion of fillings in the omelette and a lower proportion of cheese. The bread that came with it was tasty as well and completed the meal.

Eggs Benedict is fast becoming popular in Singapore, and Baker and cook serves a decent Eggs Benedict. Order it with salmon and you will be rewarded with an excellent meal. The poached eggs are great and when mixing the yolk with the salmon and bread, the combination is literally happiness in your mouth. The hollandaise sauce of courses adds to the delight and mixes in well with the eggs, salmon and bread.

Do note that the menu items are a bit pricey, and its quite a long walk to Baker & Cook from the nearest bus stop if you don't have a car. Seats are few and its always pretty much full during meal times so do come early or prepare to wait patiently!

Back to the amazing french chicken place (I find their tagline very amusing)! But this time instead of giving their poulet another go, me and my girlfriend decided to order a few desserts to try! So basically we ordered these three
desserts: Tiramisu, Banana Bread Pudding and Caramelised Apple in Fluffy Tart. I'm not really into Tiramisu so I can't really comment on it. But it was nice and soft, and it comes in a really pretty jar. The Caramlised Apple was pretty good but a tiny bit small. Still, it's worth a try. However, the best would have to be the Banana Bread Pudding! I love all things banana and this was so warm and fluffy and was filled with bananas. You have to try this if you're a fan of bananas too!
