Fast food outlets out there, meet your newest competitor - Arnold's. Arnold's is the place to go if you are craving for some solid fried chicken.

I didn't hear about Arnold's until one of my friends suggested going there one day. It was kind of out of the way for most of us but we heard it was really good. And man we were not disappointed.

My friend and I got the 2 person combo meal with an additional cheese sauce. The chicken was served hot, you can literally see the steam coming out of the chicken as you attempt to take a bite. It reminds me of the kind of spring chicken one usually order at those food courts but its even better. Crispy and tasty.

I normally prefer shoe string fries but the ones served at Arnold's were fantastic. They were not too oily. (I wonder if they ad anything special to their fries. It just tastes great.) I am such a big fan of Arnold's now.

I hope they open more outlets so that I can satisfy my cravings more easily. tongue

P.s- Photos credit to my friend. (I was too busy digging into my food that I did not take any photos. They were that good)

Lok Lok~ Smile Nov 15, 2013

One day my sister decided to buy some lok lok back from school.

She bought it at the end of the day and so the soup stock have been kept boiling throughout the day and so it was very flavourful and spicy (my favourite)! Although albeit too spicy, still it was very shiok drinking the soup stock. There was a hint of bitterness after each sipping.

The ingredients (fish cake, tofu and mini hot dogs) is also cooked just right. Yummy!

The whole thing cost around $9 with the ingredients and all. Albeit expensive but still a fair price to pay for good food!

One particular rainy day, my colleagues and I decided to lunch in and we went to 4 fingers. Contrary to most reviews, there wasn't much of a queue, probably cause it was still early (shortly before 12) and so we set off to order our food!

I ordered the chicken rice box which comes with 2 pieces of chicken (soy garlic flavour), rice, kimchi coleslaw and a drink.

Love the chicken as it was very reminiscent of the korean fried chicken that i loved eating at Kko Kko Nara. So kudos to that! It was crispy and very flavourful. Though it can get quite messy when you are deciding to eat with your hands or your utensils. The coleslaw does its name proud, tasting indeed like kimchi, albeit with a more creamy mayonnaise taste. Quirky taste which i think is not to everyone's liking.

I will definitely visit again if i am craving for korean style fried chicken! 👍

Sweets for You? Smile Dec 31, 2014

So my mum was craving for some mochi sweets and i decided to get some for her. I was also tempted to since they look so yummy in their display cases. Anyway i got a few different flavours and the shop assistant was nice enough to write it down on a thin sheet of paper which was later included in the box. This allowed customers to know which flavours they are actually chowing down later on.

Anyway i quite liked the chewy consistency of the mochi sweets and they also had a little bit of filling in them. They are like a little than half the size of your palm. Not too sweet either so i think it wouldn't be a problem chowing down on these a few at a time. Will definitely return to try their other flavours!

BEST Ganache Ever Smile Dec 31, 2014

For my mum's birthday, my sister bought a cake from Rive Gauche, a chocolate cake at that. While i marvelled at the design, with something like gold glitters on the top, i thought i would just take a bite just for tasting. But when i took a bite, i liked it immediately. I am not a fan of chocolate cakes but the folks at RG did a fantastic job with the cake. It had several textures, like creamy chocolates and waffle biscuits and so the chocolate wasn't too overwhelming. Nor was it very sweet which suited me just fine.
So for any of you out there who doesn't like chocolate cakes much, trust me, give the one at RG a try.
