Hee Kee Desserts is a new dessert parlor which recently opened shop in JP. I liked the restaurant’s logo and décor, which is quite oriental, and they even have the colourful ting kats (stacked metal containers) to complete the look.Looks aside, the food was quite disappointing. My sister and I shared a bowl of Mango with Pomelo and Vanilla Ice Cream dessert ($5.50). First of all, the service staff only gave us one spoon. It’s not a given to be expected to be given another spoon since it’s obvious we are sharing but some form of initiative would have been greatly appreciated. The mango dessert comes with pomelo fleshes which were very bitter and they are not the soft variety. They were hard and do not go well with the dessert. Furthermore, there is this lump of ice which I did not know if it was supposed to be like this or it didn’t melt completely. The mango was also quite bland but the scoop of vanilla ice cream helps to sweeten the deal.

Overall I am not impressed with the service and the food but I only tried their cold desserts so maybe I had return to try their other mango-related desserts.

Had dinner at Food Junction at Bugis Junction. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Set ($5+) from Grill Mauna. The chicken is quite tender but the sauce that came with it was the sweet, coconut-ty taste which i didn't not like. However the chilli is super spicy! Not worth paying the price but i think that's the average price to be paid at Food Junction. It gets quite boring after eating as it's just the chicken.

Decided to try the food at this stall serving Western Cuisines - pizzas and pasta at Jem Cookhouse. I wanted to try pizzas but i was worried the serving may be too much for me to finish by myself so i ordered the carbonara pasta. To facilitate waiting time, they have a disc which will light up when the food is ready.

The total waiting time was around 10 minutes but it felt longer than that. Anyway when i went to collect, i observed there is a tray of seasonings - pepper, salt, cheese and chilli flakes. I added cheese and chilli flakes but the latter not so much. Maybe the lid holes too small for the chilli flakes.

The Carbonara Pasta ($6.50) can be summed up in one word: tasteless. It is creamy but it just feels like i am eating cooked plain spaghetti. Even the ham didn't help much, though i am quite grateful for their presence. The pasta is cooked well but i just wished that the pasta sauce flavour was stronger.

I was so excited when i saw an item called "Sweet Bacon Roll" at Paris Baguette. So excited that i had my sister help me buy it when she passed by the outlet although she wasn't dining there or anything. But i was doomed to disappointment by my own expectations.The Sweet Bacon Roll lived up to its name, because it is indeed very sweet. In my head, bacon is supposed to be salty so there was this conflict going on as i was eating it. Even then i find the bacon a little raw, probably cause its soft. For the price, its not a worthy treat.

Gongcha recently launched new lids cover in anticipation of Christmas, and i have to say i am impressed and absolutely delighted. They are cute! 

However i am quite disappointed with the quality of the bubble teas. It seems to lack consistency where the types of drinks churned by different bartenders taste differently. It is not supposed to be a noticable difference but the ones i had today, Alisan Milk tea, tasted strange and lacking of the signature milky taste. My sister also said the same for her Earl Grey Milk Tea. So even though the designs blew me away, the taste did not
