Kway Chap Braised Duck Set OK Nov 17, 2014
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Hawker Centre

I had this a few years back and remember it to be pretty good, so I had this again when I was in the vicinity.

This time I felt like it's not as nice as it used to be. The rice was a little hard and the braised sauce and the duck, pig's intestines etc wasn't as fragrant as I hoped it'll be. There also wasn't any pork or pig's skin included in the set. I still prefer the kway chap from ABC food centre.

Ramen OK Nov 17, 2014
Categories : Japanese | Ramen

Upon ordering, the staff will give you a small bowl of sesame. You can grind it first to release the fragrance and add the sesame to your ramen according to your preference.

I can't remember the exact name of what I ordered but I believe this was an original flavour. Everything was not bad, just that the chashu slices were really thin and pathetic. I think there was only one slice, or at most two slices. Don't mind returning but wished they'd give more/thicker slices of meat.

So-so Dimsum OK Nov 17, 2014

Century Egg Porridge

Century Egg Porridge

The porridge itself was not bad, just that I wished there was more century egg and pork. The amount of meat and egg was very measly.

Deep-fried Beancurd Skin with Prawn

Deep-fried Beancurd Skin with Prawn

This was ok but it was super oily! There was actually a pool of oil on the plate sad

Char Siew Bao

Char Siew Bao

This was not bad, soft buns with sweet char siew filling. It wasn't too big either so you still have space to try the other food.

Har Gao

Har Gao

This was ok. Not fantastic but it wasn't bad either.

Prawn, Pork & Chives Dumpling

Prawn, Pork & Chives Dumpling

I liked this! You can taste the sweetness of the prawns with the pork and chives in a crispy exterior.

Char Siew Chee Cheong Fun

Char Siew Chee Cheong Fun

This was okay only. However the sauce didn't taste like the normal chee cheong fun sauce so this spoiled it for me.

Substandard & Expensive Food Cry Nov 17, 2014

I think this was the only restaurant within the River Safari compound, so we had lunch here out of convenience.

Dumpling Ramen

Dumpling Ramen

I got myself the dumpling ramen which was quite bad. Everything tasted pretty artificial and processed. I couldn't even bring myself to eat more than one dumpling. I'm the kind who hates to waste food, hence this says a lot. My boyfriend had the chicken cutlet ramen which was a better choice.

Lotus Chips & Pickled Cucumber

Lotus Chips & Pickled Cucumber

These were the sides that came with our noodles. Nothing nice either.

Panda Pau with Red Bean Filling

My friend got the panda pau which was cute but not sure how it tasted.

Spending per head: Approximately $17(Lunch)

Double -boiled Milk with Mini Mochi

Double -boiled Milk with Mini Mochi

This is one of my favourites at Honeymoon Dessert, which is only available as a cold dessert. The double-boiled milk is like a soft tofu pudding, very very smooth and silky and slightly sweet. I also always like to add on the mini mochi which is about a dollar plus. It's like mini tang yuans, slightly doughy and chewy. I really love this combination and it can be a little filling for some people so you may want to consider sharing!
