Swiss Rosti

Swiss Rosti

Every time I'm at Marche, I would definitely order their Swiss Rosti, which is consistently good. The grated potatoes are slightly firm and not mushy, and the top layer is always nice and crisp. With a sprinkling of salt , this dish is simple but it never fails smile

Parma Ham Pizza

Parma Ham Pizza

We also got the Parma Ham Pizza which was quite good too, consisting of parma ham, sliced tomatoes, arugula & cheese. I liked that the parma ham wasn't too salty but thought that they could have given more arugula. The amount of leaves given was a little pathetic for me.

Mixed Vegetables

Mixed Vegetables

I always try to have some vegetables in every meal so I got the Mixed Vegetables. Basically, you choose the size you want (I got the smallest bowl) and you just fill it up with whatever vegetables you want. I filled my bowl up with some grilled whole mushrooms, broccoli, red cabbage slaw and sliced zucchini & peppers. There were other choices like brussel sprouts, pasta salad etc which I didn't take. What I love about this is that you can mix and match what you like from a wide variety of yummy vegetables.

Grilled Saba Lunch Set

Grilled Saba Lunch Set

Got myself the Grilled Saba Lunch Set ($16) which includes all that you see in the picture above. I loved the moist pearl rice and the fresh, juicy and sweet watermelon slices, but what I loved the most was the super moist and juicy saba!! Seriously, it was soooo juicy it was such a joy to eat it. What's more, the skin was grilled till it was really crisp, so the combination of crisp fish skin and really moist saba meat was simply AWESOME. What a shiok and satisfying meal smilesmilesmile

Mediocre Pies OK Dec 25, 2014

Heard quite a bit about Pie Face and was quite excited to try it, however it's quite disappointing sad

Chunky Steak Pie and Chicken & Mushroom Pie

Chunky Steak Pie and Chicken & Mushroom Pie

Their pies have cute expressions drawn onto them, and each expression is a different flavour. Here we have the Chicken & Mushroom Pie at the top and Chunky Steak Pie at the bottom.

Chicken & Mushroom Pie

Chicken & Mushroom Pie

I couldn't really taste the mushroom and chicken in the pie, perhaps it's not chunky enough. The sauce was creamy but nothing unforgettable. Also, I read on a blogger's review that they use a special blend of butter to create 48 layers in their pastry, but it wasn't very flaky to me.

Chunky Steak Pie

Chunky Steak Pie

The Chunky Beef Pie had chunks of beef and diced carrots in gravy. It was ok but nothing fantastic. I think the one by Pies and Coffee definitely wins hands down.

Both pies were just not satisfying at all...won't be buying it again.

Black Pig Shabu Shabu Ramen

Black Pig Shabu Shabu Ramen

Decided to try their Black Pig Shabu Shabu Ramen this time as it seemed to be their specialty. I actually prefer shabu shabu pork slices than the normal cha shu you find in most ramen, so I actually enjoyed this ramen alot! The soup was also creamy and rich but without making you feel jelat.

Grilled Squid

Grilled Squid

Many Japanese restaurants offer this dish and I've always wanted to order it, and I finally did this time at Tampopo. The squid was firm and slightly chewy, I really liked the texture and it was a joy to eat tongue It was just lightly brushed with teriyaki sauce so you could still taste the sweetness of the squid itself, very yummy smile

So I'm back at one of my fav sushi places for dinner and of course I was gonna order sushi instead of their don or other types of food tongue

Softshell Crab Maki

Softshell Crab Maki

I've ordered their Softshell Crab Maki before and really liked it, hence I got it again this time. I really like how the crab seemed really fresh and the coating of the seaweed on the outside made the entire maki taste much better.

Ebi Tempura Maki with Pitan

Ebi Tempura Maki with Pitan

I also got the Ebi Tempura Maki with Century Egg. I couldn't really taste the century egg hence I was quite disappointed... wished the century egg taste could be stronger.

Salmon Miso Soup

Salmon Miso Soup

I wanted some soup to go along with the sushi, so I got the Salmon Miso Soup, which came with some salmon chunks, glass noodles, bean sprouts and thinly sliced radish. The soup was quite rich and didn't really taste like miso. It tasted a little herbal but I did like the taste though.
