Hainanese Fish Maw Noodles OK Nov 18, 2014

Hainanese Fish Maw Noodles

Hainanese Fish Maw Noodles

Have been wanting to try their Hainanese Fish Maw Noodles because it looks like such nice comforting food. There were fish slices, fish maw, Chinese mushrooms, leeks and carrot. It was ok but not fantastic - it tasted like everything was cooked separately then cooked together for a few minutes in the soup. It lacked the nice homecooked feel to it and it's definitely not worth the price.

Teochew Muay OK Nov 18, 2014

Categories : Teochew | Coffeeshop | Porridge/Congee

Was craving for some teochew muay so I decided to try this place out. Was here on a weekday night and there was a constant long queue.

Got ourselves the niang tofu, minced pork ball, eggplant and some kind of melon. I didn't really like the porridge as it was too starchy for my liking. The minced pork ball was not bad, and the melon and eggplant were ok too. I think the niang tofu can be better.

Chicken Chop OK Nov 18, 2014

I've heard many people rave about their food and everytime I walk past the stall I'll also see alot of people eating the big slabs of chicken, fish etc, so I thought I'd give this stall a try again (even though I had their chicken chop before but didn't think much of it).

I ordered the chicken chop again this time. The chicken chop was indeed huge, but it was a little dry and not juicy like how it's supposed to be. Definitely won't be getting this next time but may still try their other food.

Kway Chap Braised Duck Set OK Nov 17, 2014

Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Hawker Centre

I had this a few years back and remember it to be pretty good, so I had this again when I was in the vicinity.

This time I felt like it's not as nice as it used to be. The rice was a little hard and the braised sauce and the duck, pig's intestines etc wasn't as fragrant as I hoped it'll be. There also wasn't any pork or pig's skin included in the set. I still prefer the kway chap from ABC food centre.

Ramen OK Nov 17, 2014

Upon ordering, the staff will give you a small bowl of sesame. You can grind it first to release the fragrance and add the sesame to your ramen according to your preference.

I can't remember the exact name of what I ordered but I believe this was an original flavour. Everything was not bad, just that the chashu slices were really thin and pathetic. I think there was only one slice, or at most two slices. Don't mind returning but wished they'd give more/thicker slices of meat.
