I really love the salads and wraps from Sumo Salad! It's the place I go to when I'm looking for something healthy yet delicious to eat. What's more, the staff always try to stuff as much salad as possible into the container till it's full to the brim hence it makes me feel like it's really value-for-money tongue

I usually get the smaller portion with 2 kinds of salads, but this time I was feeling a little hungrier hence I got the bigger portion where I can get 3 kinds of salad. I like their thai vermicelli and veggie salad so I got those 2 again, and for the cous cous on the right it's my first time trying it out.

Thai Vermicelli: The dressing for the vermicelli was very light, so it’s not very Thai but I still like it as everything tastes clean and light on the palate. Other than vermicelli, there’s also julienned carrot, chicken slices and coriander.

Veggie Salad: Their veggie salads are always tossed in dressing beforehand so they always absorb the flavours and do not have that really raw vegetable taste. This salad came together with capisum slices that was cooked till soft beforehand, hence it was nice and sweet, and soft creamy pumpkin and avocado cubes. The taste is really great lol

Couscous: The couscous also came together with capisum that was cooked till soft beforehand. Couscous is actually some kinda wheat/semolina substitute for those who don't want to eat rice/pasta. It was interesting and not bad and the 'grains' are much smaller than rice.

Superb Tobiko Scallop Pasta! Smile Dec 02, 2013

When I think of what to eat for lunch/dinner, TCC is a place that'll never pop into my mind. I'm not sure why but perhaps because they'rd a huge chain that I thought their food wouldn't be that impressive.

However, my colleague is a member and had a birthday discount (50% off 1st visit & 30% off 2nd visit, such an awesome deal!) so we decided to pop by for lunch.

I ordered the Tobiko Scallop Pasta, which was something diff from the usual pastas and this was served in Japanese soy dressing. Even though there were only 3 scallops, they were HUGE and very satisfying, they were also topped with a lot of roe. The dressing was also very very yummy with just a tinge of creaminess.

I never expect that TCC serves such delicious food so I'm really wowed and impressed! smile Will definitely return even without any discounts!

Aburi Salmon Sushi & Ikura Sushi

Aburi Salmon Sushi & Ikura Sushi

YUM. Aburi Salmon Belly Sushi is my weakness and theirs was an absolute delight! Just before they served this plate of sushi, while they were torching the salmon, the smell of the seared and slightly charred salmon filled the entire restaurant. That smell was so appetizing and made me so eager to get my food! Taste-wise, the salmon was soft and sweet and the amount of rice was just right so that it didn't overpower the taste and mouthfeel of the fish.

As for the Ikura sushi, it was definitely good too. But nowhere as mind-blowing as the Aburi Salmon Belly Sushi lol

Having read the good reviews about this eatery, I decided to give this place a try.

I ordered the Thunder Tea Rice as I've heard that it has a lot of health benefits. It's a dish I've not tried before and having heard that it's an acquired taste, I was really hoping I'm one of those who will like the taste.

The Thunder Tea Rice consisted of a bowl of green tea/basil blend and a bowl of rice topped with many ingredients such as tofu, mushrooms, crunchy vegetables and nuts. I first tried the blend of basil and green tea which tasted kinda strange to me. However after I poured the entire bowl onto the rice and mixed everything up, I could no longer taste that strange flavour. Instead, all the ingredients, rice and green tea/basil went very well together. I especially loved how there was a crunch in every mouthful from the veg and peanuts.

The eatery also provides soup, which you could scoop by yourself and donate however much you like - proceed go to the Vegetarian Society (Singapore). The soup of the day was old cucumber soup and it was extremely flavourful.

Will definitely return for it's healthy and delicious food!

Love the Mala Chicken LaMian! Smile Dec 04, 2013

This outlet was different from their usual Cantonese/Shanghai cuisine, hence I wanted to give it a try. The ambience for this restaurant was casual and the food seemed pretty afforable.

As this was considered a specialty branch (cuisine is different from most of their other branches), I wanted to order something that was distinctive of the cuisine.

Their La Mian with Spicy Chicken, Preserved Egg And Cucumber in Sichuan Style ($11.80) caught my eye. I was really pleased with the presentation. This cold dish was basically springy handmade noodle served with cold spicy chicken, sliced cucumbers and diced century egg. There were alot of chicken pieces (which were well-marinated making it very flavourful), which was a delightful surprise as restaurants these days can be quite measly with their meat portions. Although I can't really eat spicy food, I really liked this dish as the flavours went well together and the cold noodles evened out the spiciness of the dish.

We also ordered the Marinated Pig’s Ear with Cucumber ($8.50). The pig's ears were crunchy, doused in chilli oil and sesame oil and served with some cucumber slices. This dish was okay to me... nothing bad about it but it's also something that I won't order again. It may just be my personal preference.

All in all, this is a place that I'd definitely return to. Service was good and there was quick response from the staff there, who were really friendly and helpful.
