Great place for coffee OK Apr 20, 2014

We decided to check out chock full of beans as they're known to serve cute latte art in their coffees. We had Ice Caramel Macchiato ($6.50) as 3D art is only available for ice beverages. Do note that 3D latte art is only available upon request. It will be random design as we were told that they were busy. We had brunch - Banger & Eggs, very simple dish with scrambled eggs, a croissant & German sausages. Overall, it tasted average and this is definitely not worth the value of $17 bucks. We ordered their big breakfast version as well.

This is our second time having Marriott Cafe's high tea buffet since 2 years back and I must say, it's more or less the same dishes still as items may vary. Starting off with the seafood section, there were fresh white prawns and mussels together with bentos of sushi/sashimi assortment for the sushi lover.

Mariott Cafe offers a bit of everything. From porridge, satays, dimsum to local mains like chicken rice, prawn mee, bak ku teh, yong tau fu, mee siam, curry chicken and more. We start to find it boring but I'm sure it will be a good take for tourists. Though the dessert portion seems limited, I'm still glad that they've a bit of everything. From ice kachang to Asian desserts such as kueh lapis, malay kuehs and lastly to English sweets. Being a high tea buffet, desserts should be the highlight of it but I find it disappointing to have such a small spread of sweets.

The food quality for it's high tea buffet tasted average with plenty of local dish which I find it too 'familiar'. Overall, it's still worth a visit - $39++ per pax for high tea buffet. Read full review at http://jacqsowhat.blogspot.com/2014/02/high-tea-buffet-marriott-cafe-singapore.html

During Christmas this year, Café Swiss @ Swissotel The Stamford is having DBS 1-for-1 for their festive lunch & dinner buffet. We decided to try out cafe swiss as we read reviews about it and since it's 1-for-1 deal.

Started off w the greens and the wide selections of salad in big pots - taste decent. Moving on to their savory dishes, a variety of picks for cheese fondue. Pasta & Omelette station - A choice of tomato or mushroom sauce for your pasta. I had numerous servings of it because of their flavorful mushroom sauce w generous servings of mushroom. Delicious! What's Christmas without roasted turkey? Serving alongside were the German sausages as well. Not to miss the Japanese station, assorted sushi and salmon sashimi. Sashimi were average, not too fresh either. Seafood cold section - Chilled clams, mussels and fresh prawns.

The dessert section were pleasant and satisfying though the variety were limited, considering it's a lunch buffet. There were the log cakes and festive fruit cakes as well! We end off with some sweets from a spread of cakes to pick from.

Café Swiss is a buffet that offers a limited spread yet good quality of food. Some were above our expectations while some fell short. Is it worth it? Read more at http://jacqsowhat.blogspot.sg/2013/12/cafe-swiss-festive-lunch-buffet.html

If you're looking for buffet spread of local cuisine served from a Halal certified kitchen, this is for you. We had Citibank 1 for 1 promo so we decided to check out Tiffany. I was a little disappointed w the Seafood section, there were the Mussel, Sashimi & Prawns on that day. I was expecting more than these since it cost $50++ for a dinner buffet. I read some reviews there were chili crabs, but there weren't any. I feel the range of food selections needs to be extended. Sashimi is fresh and loving it!

The best of all in the buffet were the dessert portion, it offers a variety of cakes to choose from. If you're a Durian lover, you will be delighted to know that Tiffany serves one of the best Durian Pengat and I had numerous bowls! Their food tasted average and was nothing much worth remembering. Some tasted slightly above average, while others fell short of it. There were the local delight segment - Chicken rice w roasted chicken or duck. On the other side were the Dimsum (Custard Bun & Har Gao) & Kimchi noodles. Sadly, the noodles they call it were maggie mee D: It's not that Tiffany is bad but for the price I'm paying (Without 1 for 1 promo it's $52.80++), I would choose to dine elsewhere w more seafood selections & not just pure local cuisine.

I would recommend this for it's cosy ambiance and great place to chill. They have main courses as well but our visit was to mainly check out their desserts. Prices may be steeper here if you're comparing to other dessert cafes such as Wimbly Lu. Have been wanting to check out Vanilla Bar & Cafe for their highly raved Vanilla Dirt Cake which is served in a unique way, in a Flower Pot. We ordered the Vanilla Dirt Cake ($9.50) and being a Molten Chocolate Cake fanatic, it's a must try for me if it's ever on the menu and so we ordered! ($11.50).

The Vanilla Dirt Cake was such as innovative dessert that it's serve to you in a Flower Pot with 'dirt' on top which is actually Oreo Crumbs w layer of frozen vanilla ice cream & 2 jelly worms! Overall, it tasted average and similar to Mcflurry but I would prefer Macs. Unfortunately, the Molten Chocolate Cake was a major disappointment. It was completely baked inside thus there wasn't any chocolate flow. My expectation was high as the price is quite similar to Chili's and Chili's has one of the best Molten chocolate cake in Singapore. I've heard that their mains/ all-day breakfast were scrumptious, desserts maybe not for me over here. Overall, nice place to chill w free Wi-Fi (:
