An interesting and outstanding outdoor-ish dining / drinks concept at the edge of Far East Square, The Chambers is almost iconic with its white thatched logo bearing its name. I passed by many times but always had to wonder what this place was all about, since there was no website nor Facebook on it. I saw a bar counter stacked with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, then I heard about their famous Nasi Padang, and western food, and decided to drop by.
The Exterior
Nasi Padang pricing is dependent on what dishes you order; Western food costs SGD$9.80 generally. If you choose to take the Western set lunch, it costs a mere SGD$10.00 for a generously-portioned main course as well as a drink (choice of Iced Lemon Tea / Iced Lychee / Iced Longan). Grilled Unagi (SGD$9.80) consisted of a slab of smooth, juicy eel that had a lovely, "rain"-like sweetness to its slimy flesh. Drizzled with special sauce, and paired with fragrant flavored rice and salad, this dish was an absolute delight. The Nasi Bryani was aromatic and tasty as well, grainy Basmati rice infused with spices. The Curry Chicken was very succulent and flavorful -every bite was enjoyable. I have always heard good things about their seafood buffet dinner. Finally, 5 of us came to try their Crab-a-licious Seafood Buffet Dinner. At SGD$55++ per head, this is considerably one of the best value-for-money seafood buffet. Despite its price, the spread does not lose out to what other seafood buffet restaurants offer. Besides 4 to 5 types of crab, there were also other crustacean items for the taking. Hence, it is not hard to see why this place is crowded with eager diners even on weekday evenings. There were at least 4 types of crab, a serious array of seafood and desserts, as well as an assortment of other cooked items, such as pasta, pork knuckle, chicken dishes etc. It was an enjoyable meal with a robust selection and quality taste. Service was rather personable as well. For full review, please refer: http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2016/06/crab-licious-seafood-buffet-dinner-at.html Recommended Dish(es):

The interior decor
During a catching up lunch with *Mel, I was introduced to The Den Bar and Kitchen (by day; it morphs into a wine bar with tapas by night). Located along the rows of shophouses along Raffles Place area, this European-styled bistro houses lots of collections from (the founders?) travels around the world, and is a relatively new kid on the block, having been around for about a year. The Boneless Chicken Thigh (SGD$16.00) was served with smashed sweet potatoes, sautéed haricot verts, and jus. The huge chicken thigh was Cajun-marinated; its tender, moistened flesh basking in the exotic smoky hints of the flavour. The Lemon-Butter Seafood Pasta (SGD$15.00) – made up of spaghetti in lemon-butter sauce, chives, lime leaf, white fish, squids and prawns. Springy strands of long, slim pastas tangled themselves around fresh, springy prawns and squids as well as luscious flaky white fish. Lemon-butter was refreshing – not too thick or greasy at all, but a gently zest was emanated. It was quite a lovely pasta dish. Men-Tei Rmaen Restaurant is a simple Japanese ramen house located at the restored row of Colonial shophouses near Lau Pa Sat, this simple-looking, no-fuss Japanese diner is a gem amid the CBD area.
Interior
Co-founded by a team of Japanese partners, Senior Mr. Lim and his son Chef Jason Lim, this restaurant offers one of the best ramen in Singapore - all thanks to Chef Jason's love for ramen, his hunt around Japan, his studies at the Yamato Noodle School as well as unique scientific methods of cooking. The interior decor was simple and rather Zen, reminiscent of ramen restaurants lining Japan streets, and the service is attentive and polite even during peak hours The Pork Gyoza (SGD$5.00) had a class of its own - crispy on the outside, especially around the edges; filled with moist and scrumptious pork and leek stuffing within. The Signature Tonkotsu Ramen (SGD$14.50), made up of lovely flavored egg, utterly tender grilled pork slices, al dente fine noodles so enticing to chew on, and saccharine, slurp-it-up good pork-spices broth. I upped the level of spiciness for extra kick. A seafood restaurant serving uniquely Singapore dishes since 1999, Orchid Live Seafood got its name because the first outlet was in Orchid Country Club. Today, they have 2 outlets - one at Sembawang and one at Seleter Hills Estate. A typical Chinese live seafood restaurant with a casual setting showcasing large tanks of sea creatures swimming around in them, Orchid Live Seafood is well known for their Lobster Porridge and Steven's Chicken Wings. Steven's Chicken Wings (SGD$24.00) aka lollipop chicken wings - crackling on the exterior and tender on the inside- one of their signature dishes. Finally, the star of the night and the main reason we were here - Lobster Porridge (SGD$150.00), made up of a huge pot of grainy rice cooked in rich, nectarous lobster broth. Every spoonful was a delight, bursting with deliciouness in the mouth. The lobsters were fresh and springy in texture, tasting lovely even after shedding their essence in the broth.
