Chicken Nuggets Cry Mar 04, 2014
Categories : American | Fast Food | Halal | Burgers and Sandwiches

Bought the deal on Groupon earlier, only paid $4.95 for an 20 Pcs Burger King Nuggets, instead of the usual price of $8.95.

Unlike McDonalds, Burger King does not limit the number of BBQ Sauce you can take. But in terms of the quality, I find that McDonald's BBQ Sauce is somewhat better than Burger King's. As for the nuggets, it is quite hard, the chicken taste is also very bland. All in all, I find that $8.95 for 20 pcs nuggets is very overpriced as the quality of the food is not really worth the price.

Nacho Cheese Filiet Cry Mar 02, 2014
Categories : American | Fast Food | Ice Cream and Gelato | Burgers and Sandwiches | Kids-Friendly

Sometime back just after the CNY holidays, Mcdonalds actually introduced a new series of burgers, including Nacho Cheese Filiet-O-Fish, McChicken with Cheese, each of the set meals are priced at $5.00. I believe almost everyone should be familiar, a set meal comes with a drink and a corn cup or a pack of salted fries. As of now (02 March), the Nacho Cheese burger is already not on the menu, but there's a Tangy Filiet-O-Fish on the menu, also priced at $5/set.

As for the Nacho Cheese Burger, there are two main differences. Firstly, of course the sauce, instead of the normal Tartar sauce, it is replaced by the Nacho Cheese Sauce. The Nacho Cheese Sauce in my honest opinion is very bland, and the taste of the nacho cheese is does not really goes well with the filiet burger. Secondly, there is lettuce included in the Nacho Cheese Filiet-O-Fish. Again, just like what I've mentioned earlier on, the nacho cheese does not go well with the burger, including the lettuce, thus the Nacho Cheese Filiet-O-Fish Burger in my honest opinion is such a letdown to Filiet-O-Fish lovers.

Dim Sum Cry Mar 02, 2014
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Dim Sum

Decided to head over to Crystal Jade for some dim sum and lunch before shopping at Tampines Mall. Ordered two of its Dumpling noodles, and some dim sums, including the chives dumpling, fried carrot cake and siew mai. The dumpling noodles were really dry, noodle is not 'Q' at all, no taste and the sauce is also very diluted. The dumplings were great, with lots of fresh ingredients inside, but the quality of the noodles had definitely pull the quality of the whole dish down. For $7.90, I think I can get much better quality noodles than this one. The Chive Dumplings and Fried Carrot Cake were also very disappointing. The chive dumplings were being fried, the skin of the dumpling was surprisingly crispy, but the filling inside is still not really cooked and the filling inside is definitely too little. The fried carrot cake has also no taste, it doesn't comes with any condiments like chilli sauce as well. The siew mai is the one that is rather edible only. Siew Mai is pretty good, fresh prawns were used. The total bill after GST & service charge came up to $33+ for two person. I believe the next time I'm back at Crystal Jade, will definitely go back to its Roasted Delicacies, which is definitely thousand times better than the noodles and dim sum.

Pineapple Fried Rice OK Mar 04, 2014
Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Coffeeshop | Zi Char

This seafood stall always have long queues during evening time, especially during weekend. Its famous for its Chilli Crab and its Egg Yolk Prawn. The food was just above average till they changed their main chef sometime back.

This time instead of its dishes, bought its Pineapple Fried Rice instead. There were char siew bites, pineapple dices, prawns and chickens. For $5, the portion is really big, suitable for two, but the taste of the pineapple fried rice can just be described as one word - Bland. The pineapple dices somehow has no effect on the rice, the rice is just normal yellow rice and has no pineapple smell or taste. The prawns and chickens are still okay, still edible. The sambal chilli was good, was spicy enough and goes well with fried rice and noodles. All in all, I will recommend its Salted Fish Fried Rice and other dishes, just don't try its Pineapple Fried Rice.

Pancakes & Tarts! OK Mar 02, 2014
Categories : Bakery | Halal

This PrimaDeli has been here for quite some time and whenever I'm craving for pancakes, I'll definitely come over as its the nearest stall that sells pancakes! This time, bought an Chocolate Pancake ($1.80) and 2 Egg Tarts ($2.60).

The Chocolate Pancake is slightly above average, they had been very generous on the amount of chocolate filling, while the pancake is very fluffy, for those who loves to eat crispy waffles/pancakes, this might not suits you.

As for the egg tart, the skin of the egg tart is very soft, while the egg filling is very nice, suitable for kids.
