Vegetarian Dishes!  Smile Mar 04, 2014

This stall serves great Vegetarian 'Zi Char', with lots of choices. My favourites are actually the salad prawn, five spice roll and Tom Yam Fried Rice.

Their Salad Prawn is not served like other vegetarian zi char stall, their prawns are in small bites and the salad sauce is served seperately. For $10, there are about 15 piece of bite-sized Prawns and generous amount of salad sauce. The Prawns are crispy on the outer and soft in the inner. The salad sauce goes very well with the prawns.

The Five Spice Roll is one of the best dishes. Each roll is $4 and it will be cut into 8-10 pieces. In each five spice roll, there are ingredients like carrot, chestnut and vegetarian meat. Each bite is full of meat and chestnut flavour, outer layer is also very crispy. Normally one Five Spice Roll is not enough.

Tom Yam Fried Rice are priced at $3.50, $4.50 and $6. For $4.50, its a rectangle box filled with tom yam rice, peas,, ham and some vegetarian floss. The Tom Yam Paste is not too spicy but is flavourful enough. Peas and hams goes well with the rice as well. The vegetarian floss gives the tom yam fried rice a special flavour, spicy and sour.

All in all, spending $18.50 for two is considered cheap for such good food. Definitely worth a try if you're in that vicinity.

Subway!  Smile Mar 04, 2014

Was at Tampines 1 and decided to buy a 6 inch Italian Ham sandwich for dinner. As usual, there were 4 slices of ham and with a selection of vegetables, including lettuce, onions, tomatoes etc. Of course, there are sauces to go with as well. Some sauces includes, BBQ, Sweet Onion, Ranch etc.

As usual, I did not include any vegetable in the sandwich and added BBQ & Mayonnise sauce into my sandwich. In my own opinion, Ham goes well with BBQ and mayonnise sauce. The Ham is cut till thin, thus it is quite soft. The BBQ sauce is really full flavoured. The bread is slightly toasted with cheese, thus the outer of the bread is crispy and warm.

Added another $1.00 for an cookie. There were an array of selection to choose from, including its famous Chocolate Chip Cookie, Double Chocolate Chip cookie and Raspberry Cookie. I will normally choose either the Raspberry Cookie or the Chocolate Chip cookie. The chocolate chip cookie is just the same as the ones served in Famous Amos, only can be described in one word - FABULOUS. All in all, each meal consist of 6 inch sandwich, cookie and a 16oz drink cost $6 which is very reasonable and value-for-money.

Honey Mint Pudding Tea Smile Mar 02, 2014

Categories : Juices

Was at the NTUC on one of the Fridays and decided to get a cup of Honey Mint Pudding Tea from Woobbee. In my opinion, the best drink on the menu is actually the Honey Mint Pudding. There's a large serving of pudding included in a cup of honey mint milk tea. The pudding is very 'Q', honey mint is very fragrance, mint taste is also just nice, not too strong. The Milk tea taste can still be felt. Honey mint + Pudding + Milk Tea makes up a good combination.

For a small cup (500cc), it costs $3.50 and for a large cup (700cc), it costs $4.90, which is about the same price as KOI and I find it reasonable for such a cup of good quality milk tea. If you're at the Kang Kar Mall Outlet on a Friday, you'll be able to enjoy 20% off if you select any of the Large size drinks on the menu. As such I only paid $3.90 for a $4.90 cup of drink.

Their staff are also very friendly and courteous. The minus point is that there's no seats, thus you definitely have to takeaway the drink.

Fish & Chips! Smile Mar 02, 2014

Categories : Singaporean | Coffeeshop | Steaks and Grills

Was very much attracted by its tartar sauce the previous time I patronized this stall and thus, I'm back for its Fish & Chips. For a plate of $6 Fish & Chips, there's two piece of fish, garlic bread, baked beans, coleslaw, french fries and of course, its famous fruits tartar sauce.

The fish is fried till golden crispy, outer batter is very crispy while the fish inside is very soft, suitable for all ages. The garlic bread was toasted lightly and the garlic smell and taste is very fragrance, really good. As for the baked beans and coleslaw, quite normal. The french fries is very crispy as well, much better as compared to other western food stalls. Its fruit tartar sauce is actually the killer. When accompanied with the fish or french fries, it gives a unique sour yet sweet taste. It goes well with the garlic bread as well.

Other than Fish & Chips, they do serve dishes like Chicken Chop, Chicken Cutlet and even Siziling hot-plates as well. The price ranges from $5.00 to $10.00, which is very reasonable for the portion and quality of the food. Worth a try when you're in the vicinity.

Great Food!  Smile Mar 02, 2014

Categories : Coffeeshop | Pasta | Steaks and Grills

This Char Grill Bar is one of my favorite place to patronize as its really very near to my school! That coffeeshop is rather empty, with only a few stalls opened in the afternoon and the food served at the other stalls are just simply normal. This Char-Grill Bar serves a different variety of food, ranging from burgers to pastas to chickens to fish at very affordable price. You can also choose two side dish for every main course purchased and the side dishes have been categorized into cold and hot side dishes. Cold side dishes includes garden salad and potato salad. As for the hot side dishes, there's California Raisin Rice, Cheesey Pasta, Onion Rings, Fries and Mashed Potato.

We ordered the Ham and Sausage Pasta ($5) as well as BBQ Chicken Chop ($6). For the pasta, the tomato sauce used is kind of unique, sweet and also a little bit spicy. They are also very generous on the amount of ham given. Noodles were of great quality and dish was served quite fast. As for the BBQ Chicken Chop, the sauce is very 'SHIOK' and the amount of french fries given was also very generous. The Onion Rings are very addictive and it really tastes like real onion. As for the chicken chop, its grilled till prefect, accompanied by hot piping delicious BBQ Sauce. One of the best western in Tampines!
