Love the azuki bean pancake Smile Jan 20, 2014

Azuki bean is more commonly known as red bean. The red bean paste used as the filling of their pancake was not those smooth and pureed type but you can still find the whole red beans inside. I like the texture of the paste and most importantly it was not overly sweet! The staff were also very pleasant and enthusiastically showing me their CNY cookies.

A bit bland for ramen OK Jan 19, 2014
Categories : Japanese | Ramen

We were sending off someone to the airport and decided to settle our lunch there. We have tried some ramen before at Ramen Champion and they had been convincingly good, so we thought of trying something new here.

The presentation of the Riki ramen looks pleasant and attractive. However, after took a sip of the soup, it just feel... bland. Usually, ramen tends to be on the saltier side, but this ramen was probably just half the level of saltiness of what we usually had (which was probably good for health), the soup was also bland and not much flavor. We were actually wondering if the chef left out any ingredients.

Japanese curry that really spicy! Smile Jan 17, 2014
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese

If you think Japanese curry are simply sweet and not shiok at all, think about it again!

Coco Ichibanya is famous for Japanese curry, there are in total 7 level of spiciness, the lowest level being mild (not spicy at all, suitable for children), then level 0 (Standard) to level 5 (Crazy hot).

This is a level 3 thin-sliced boiled beef curry, and the level of spiciness made me gulped down more rice than usual.

Recommended Dish(es):  Japanese curry

Spending per head: Approximately $15

To be honest, I am not a big fan of Singapore wanton mee. This one, although nothing special about it, was all-right. If you order a takeaway in this type of plastic bag, they will not charge you extra for packaging.

The noodle of this wanton mee ($3) is not the springy type (which suit my taste as I don't like a springy wanton mee noodle), char siew are thinly sliced, the marination was not very strong hence you can still taste the natural flavour from the pork. The wantons are all right, like the thin and silky skin of it.

The stall is actually divided to left hand side (selling fish soup, fish noodle etc) and right hand side (selling wanton mee, lor mee etc). The right hand side open very early but the left side slightly later (I arrived at 10am, only the right hand side was open). Personally, I find their fish soup more appealing to me.

Molten lava cake Smile Jan 16, 2014
Categories : American | Desserts and Cakes | Ice Cream and Gelato

I am a chocolate fan, this molten lava cake with double dark chocolate ice-cream seems just perfect for me! The ice-cream was rich and creamy, a bit on the sweet side though. As for the cake, I felt that it was a bit overcooked. It would be nice if there were more 'lava' flowing out from the center of the cake when it is sliced open.
