This is my first time reviewing a restaurant, felt the need to as I personally want this restaurant to improve. Usually if I have a bad experience in a restaurant I would just simply not visiting it ever again. However, I do see the potential in this restaurant, and would be glad if it can fine tune certain parts in their management.

Food wise, it is up to standard. The food is not fantastic, but it is worth what you pay. I can only say that there are too many Japanese restaurants in Singapore which are below standard and over-priced. The sashimi is fresh, salmon aburi roll is good. However, taco wasabi is disappointing. It is far from what it's supposed to be. This is my favorite appetizer and it is hard to go wrong. The chef definitely needs to improve on this dish, try not to focus on the popular dishes only. A good restaurant makes every details count.

Done with the food, now it's time for the service. Some people believe that as long as their food is good, they can open a restaurant. Well, some customers buy this idea as well, they focus more on the food quality. To me, food quality is definitely important, but I do not overlook on the service. We queued for half an hour before getting a seat, I have no complaints in queuing. Good food draws it's crowd. After we were presented with the menu, we took about 5 minutes to decide on the orders. We were only told by then that no more sushi is available. We queued at 7pm and were seated at about 7:30pm. It is the peak hour for dinner, I can't believe no one even bother to tell us that no sushi is available when everyone was queuing outside and when we were seated. If I knew that there is no sushi available, I would not have came for this restaurant. Sorry to say that the name is really misleading, named itself "The Sushi Bar" but sushi is not available during weekend's peak hour.

The staff were friendly and attentive though, not rude at all. They do not charge service fee so it's understandable that you need to refill hot water by yourself. The management is responsible to train their staff on how to manage their customer's expectation. Customers do not mind to pay more for good food, price is not the only indicator when deciding which restaurant we should go.

I might be back for a visit after I see more reviews on it's service improvement, hopefully I do not need to wait a few years for the next visit!
