Good price and portion Smile Jan 19, 2014

This place is very crowded during dinner time and there is a long queue at the counter for ordering. We queued for about 15 minutes for order and another 20 minutes for our food to come. We were pretty famished by then.We ordered their signature fish soup, sweet and sour pork and long bean with minced meat. The fish soup tasted very yummy, slightly milkish with tinge of xo.It would be better if there are more fish slices in the soup. There wasnt any tofu in the fish soup like other places, only cabbages and chunky bits of yam here.I love the long bean with minced meat best as portion is big and taste is good.

Taiwan grilled scallops Smile Jan 18, 2014

Categories : Taiwanese

I have tried and really loved these grilled scallops in my recent trip to Taiwan where 4 sticks of scallops were sold at about $6,breaking down to $1.50 per stick.Hence i was really excited when i chanced by this outlet selling Taiwan grilled scallops, the first i have seen in Singapore. However price is quite high here at $3.30 each stick due to high cost of rental and raw material prices compared to Taiwan. There are various flavours available including original, seaweed, garlic, wasabi etc.My favourite would be original taste scallops as i can taste the fresh natural flavour of the juicy scallops.Hope they can run promotion to make the price more attractive.

I love the relaxing ambience with good service and food here. The servers are mainly middle aged aunties whom are very friendly, they would welcome and greet you upon entering and leaving.Dian Xiao Er's herbal duck is very popular, almost all the tables the patrons ordered a plate of it.I really love their roasted duck with herbal sauce the duck is very well roasted with crispy skin. The herbal sauce is slightly sweet and goes very well with the duck meat.I also ordered their black chicken double boiled herbal soup which is nourishing with light herbal taste.I would come back again to try out their set menu with my family.

Fragrant chicken rice Smile Jan 18, 2014

Categories : Hainanese | Chicken Rice

Although taxes are not included here, prices of items are higher than average. Additonal egg costs $1 each and extra portion of rice at 90 cents.Place is with air-conditioning, ambience and service is okay. The chicken is tender and nicely marinated. I love their rice the most as it is very aromatic and addictive. I finished the rice even before finishing the meat.

delicious dimsums Smile Jan 17, 2014

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Dim Sum

We were there on a weekday for tea and we ordered some dimsums and cooked dishes to share. Our sweet and sour pork dish tasted just nice and not overly sweet,it goes very well with the fluffy soft rice. The chicken was really smooth and tender which i loved. The best of them all are actually the har gaus/steamed prawn dumplings. They are really fresh and juicy with delightful soft crystal clear skin. They do have on going promotions for various 6 course set meals starting from $38 which are quite attractive which i hope to come and try out soon.
