The cakes here aren't just beautiful looking, but they taste awesome too! A great high tea place in the CBD area. My favourite is the red velvet cake! Personally, I love red velvet cakes a lot and Cake Spade's RV wins hands down. Cream cheese to cake proportion is just right. The slice is huge for the price too! Must try!

Waffles that makes you go 'Whoa'! Smile Mar 27, 2014

Hatter Street is a whimsical cafe located in a quiet HDB estate in Hougang. They have a variety of pastries and drinks to choose from, but my friend and I decided to share their signature 'Whoa'ffles ($8.90).

There are 3 variations, but we chose the Singapore-inspired flavour. Pandan ice cream drizzled with Gula Melaka. Sounds extremely sinful and delish!

This might be the best waffle I've ever had so far. The crispy waffles were pretzel-like salted, which balances out the sweetness of the Gula Melaka. The blueberries also helped to tone down on the sweetness. A plus point, because the waffles don't feel too rich or heavy to finish. The Pandan Ice Cream is heaven - reminds me of those old school pandan kueh. Very uniquely Singaporean; a very good fusion dessert! On the down side, the waffles weren't exactly hot when served.

Yam Cake

Yam Cake

If you like yam desserts, then this yam cake from Mirana Cake House should be in your to-eat-list. The portion of the slice is sufficient for one and the yam works so well with the cake. The cake itself is light and moist, just like how good cakes should be like. The yam layer is delish - sweetness is on the spot and you can actually taste the autenthic yam flavour. Besides, this is really affordable considering the fact that this tastes extremely good! Highly addictive, too!

Nori Seaweed Flavoured Fried Carrot Cake

Nori Seaweed Flavoured Fried Carrot Cake

Tried this amazing fried carrot cake at the Food Expo! This is, definitely, by far the best fried carrot cake I've tasted so far. They are very innovative too, they have about 10 different fried carrot cake flavours (flavoured using seasoning powder). My friend and I got the Nori Seaweed Flavoured Fried Carrot Cake. First bite into it, I was blown away by the fragrance. The egg in it enhanced the flavour, bringing the carrot cake to the next level (really, it's very delicious!). On the downside though, flavour of the nori seaweed wasn't really present. Otherwise, this is perfect!

If you are a die-hard durian fan, you will like the products sold by Four Seasons Durians!
Mao Shan Wang Durian Ice Cream

Mao Shan Wang Durian Ice Cream

Mao Shan Wang Ice Cream! At $3 per cup, it's really affordable considering they use real Mao Shan Wang durian! The durian flavour is obviously there (shiok!), texture was consistent, very comforting to eat on a hot sunny day. This is a must-get!
Durian Puff

Durian Puff

Got some durian puffs too! The durian filling inside was fresh and delish, but the puff pastry could be done better.
