This place is very crowded during dinner time when we reached. Each table is given around 1.5 hrs to dine (if I am correct). If you love your vegetables fresh, you will love it here. Placed on a bed of ice, it keeps the vegetables (we loved the nai bai and leek) cool and juicy. On top of that, they keep refilling them so you will not see empty bowls there, like other buffet places.

The sauces here are also very good, and somewhat with a Jap twist. The choice not as much as Hai Di Lao but we actually loved these more. You can add lots of garlic, sesame, parsley to the sauce and to your liking. Mushrooms are aplenty here too.

The best part here is that the meat are not placed outside so that the meat can be kept in the freshest state. You need to order them from the waitress but there is no limit. It comes to you so thinly sliced that when you put them into the hot pot, they turn into a nice pick immediately. Dip into the sauce and voila, you have the perfect hot pot! Healthy and tasty!

There are many choices of soup but we chose the Tom Yum Miso and Tonkatsu soup stock. It tasted a bit mild but is ok after a while. Again, you can ask for refill of soup base if you want.

For $1.99 extra, you can go for a free flow of drinks and ice cream. ;)

Overally, a really nice, cosy place to dine. Will be back again. (it is $10 cheaper if we can on weekdays for the same things).

Excellent Liu Sha Bao Smile Nov 30, 2014
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Dim Sum

Most people come here for their famous Liu Sha Bao. It is really good as it taste of salted egg and is runny as expected! The others are so so.

The place is really cramped. They should have expanded to make the space more roomy. It feels really uncomfortable sitting in a very tight space as the owner tries to max his space.

Service is quite fast but messy. Next to us, they delivered the wrong staff to the guest for several occassions. When making payment, it is also messy. They charged us for drink we did not order and had to ask for refund. So better check your bills to ensure it tallies before leaving.

Average Steam boat OK Nov 30, 2014

Categories : Coffeeshop | Steamboat/Hot Pot

This place seems to be a fav place for the old folks, huge place with many staff serving. The unique thing about this place is that on top of steamboat (main course), they offer other Tze Cha dishes as well, on top of the hainanese chicken as a side dish.

Good place for gathering, perhaps. But location here not very good - at the basement. Anyway, this has been a long time establishment.

The steamboat is passable. Soup is ok. Not especially flavoured. It is cheap though. In summary, there are contents (quantity) but not quality. will not be back specifically for the steamboat. The Hainanese Chicken is slightly better that the steamboat. But after tasting Tian Tian, this one is far behind as the chilli sauce is not up to the same std.

Good comfort Noddles OK Nov 30, 2014
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Coffeeshop | Noodles

Tried the noddles in black sauce here. It was ok for me. The Yun Tun is crispy but the fillings could have been more. Overall, it is avearge in taste only.

The noddles are soft though and when seasoned with the dark sauce it looks good. However, it lacks a dash of oil to bring up the texture of the noddles. The Cha Siew is passable as well. Could have been thicker, that will be nice. Replace the vegetable with Kai Lan will be great!

There's plenty of seats around here, so no problem finding a place. The ambinence is only average.

XO Fish head beenhoon Smile Nov 30, 2014
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Coffeeshop | Zi Char

This is a must try! The milky fish soup is absolutely heavenly with the XO flavor and the fish slices are so thick you feel you are eating the whole fish. The ginger taste compliments the soup so well. We ordered with the bee hoon so that it can be shared by 3 adults.

Only one word: die die must try lah!

Will try their other dishes next time. smile
