Tasty Mains Smile Jan 27, 2014

We tried the semi-buffet on weekdays (from Mon-Thurs, Fri-Sun is the full buffet).
The semi-buffet offers an appetiser and dessert buffet, which is included in the price of a main course.

The portions of the main courses were generous. We had two dishes - the steak, and the grilled prawns.

Steak was done just right in medium rare, and the prawns were nicely grilled (not overly charred).

The semi-buffet did not boast much variety, but we were stuffed by the time we finished our mains, plus the appetiser and dessert buffet was complimentary to the order of a main that I really did not expect for much.

Service was good as I felt they were over-staffed.

Might give their weekend full buffet a try one day.

Recommended Dish(es):  Grilled Prawns

Kraze Burgers seems to be the Korean equivalent of the Japanese Freshness Burger. Well, it did not disappoint.
The MBS branch boasted modern comic decor and service was efficient.

We ordered one burger with brown bread buns and another normal burger.
Portions were generous.
Taste was very good.

Having tried the original chain in Seoul Korea, I would say this is a close match.

Lo hei Smile Feb 03, 2014

Categories : Singaporean Chinese

Our group of 11 was there for lunch Lo Hei, which was about $688 for a set for 10.

We made a reservation for a private room which was very spacious. There was an unblocked view of the golf course.

First dish was Prosperity Salmon "Yu Sheng" with Pine Nuts. Average.

Next, we had Braised Shark's Fin with Shredded Chicken. This was a creamy broth and it was tasty.

Thereafter, we were served Sauteed Prawns and Scallops in Cream Sauce with Seasonable Vegetables. The sauce was pretty good.

Next, we had Wok Fried Spare Ribs with Grapes Sauce. This was a tad sweet.

We were then served a steamed fish, which albeit fresh, tasted a little muddy for my liking.

Subsequently, we had Roasted Chicken marinated with Chinese Wine. This dish was pretty good and the chicken was tender.

Our last dish was the Wok-Fried Glutinous Rice with Preserved Meat. This was fragrant and not too oily.

Last but not least, for dessert, we had a combination of Chinese Pastries, which included Red Bean Pancake with Sesame Seeds smile

Overall, portions were huge, we had to takeaway some of the dishes.
Taste was pretty good.
Service was average.
Ambience was nice.
We will likely be back again.

Fine Dining Smile Jan 28, 2014

Went to Forlino on a Saturday night for our anniversary dinner and it was a good choice. The ambience was lovely - dim and romantic. Service was impeccable and it was packed, good thing we made reservations. smile

We started off with an appetizer of beef to share. Nicely presented.

For mains, we had two dishes - paella, and pork. Both were really tasty.

Will I go there again? Maybe I just might. Reason being there are other places I would like to try out.

Well worth a visit if willing to splurge. Just remember to make reservations in advance.

Fine Dining at the Top OK Jan 27, 2014

Located on level 70 of Swissôtel The Stamford, this restaurant offers breathtaking views of the Singapore city scape, and decadent Modern European fine dining.

The mains were average portions which were nicely presented.

Prawns were well cooked, and the beef was tender and perfectly done for medium rare.

Would I go there again? Probably not, due to the price. I would like to have the chance to try other restaurants instead.
