Curry Chicken Cry Jan 27, 2014

Categories : Singaporean | Coffeeshop

New Toast Box outlet. Was in the area so decided to give it a try.

We had curry chicken with rice, and curry chicken with toast.
It was a set ($6.50) which included a barley drink.

The toast was nicely done, warm and crispy.

However, chicken curry was dismal, with only 3 small pieces of mid-wings (not whole chicken wings), 2 half potatoes, and 3 beancurds. Taste was ok.

Service at this outlet was not as good as some of the other outlets. Even the circular tag that they gave us did not sound / light up / vibrate when our food was ready for collection, and we ended up going to the counter to ask on our own.

If you just want something fast, this place will do, however, not up to par with other outlets.

Place was not full for a weekend. Overall average, and dishes were slightly pricey, but I can recommend having the soups which were tasty.

Tea OK Feb 14, 2014

We were just at i12 Katong and decided to stop for a drink at BreadTalk / ToastBox.

I ordered a glass of warm Barley ($2) and a slice of Macha Red Bean cake ($4.20).

Both tasted average.

Service was quite efficient, and there were enough seats both indoors and at the small outdoor area.

We were at AOne Claypot House on their opening day.

For lunch, we decided to order 2 dishes to share.

We had the Hotplate Sesame Chicken Noodle ($9.90). This dish was a tad salty for my liking.

Next, we had the Claypot Seafood Fried Noodle ($8.90). Average in taste.

We also had warm water, each glass was chargeable at $0.50 and was not refillable.

I doubt I will be back again, unless I run out of things to eat at Bishan's Junction Eight.

Spending per head: Approximately $10(Lunch)
