Sri Kamala Vilas Restaurant

Sri Kamala Vilas Restaurant

This place has been around for the longest time. They had already renovated their shop to a air con Indian restaurant. They serve one of the best masala thosai of all time. Other dishes like prata and briyani fare not too bad. If you are lucky, there will be available seats for you, if not, be prepared to wait for seats as they are popular among this neighbourhood.

Chewy texture, onions used are big pieces and taste fresh. Overall, the prata is at the chewy side rather than crispy

I like this the best. It is one of my favourite and this restuarant provide the best masala thosai of all. The mashed potatoes are at the centre, mixed with spices and other ingredients such as onions. The thosai is soft in the middle but crispy at each end. What is like most is the texture of the thosai, fragrant, soft and delicious. Curry, white and red coconut sides are served and self help able. Fantastic. It tasted very fresh Really must order

The chicken meat is roasted and sprinkled with chopped onions and garnish.

In terms of food, i have no complain on that as i always like the food especially thosai that they served. The masala thosai is always the choice i decided everytime i come here. Other than that, the milk tea is suppose to be nice.
For service, the staffs are not so friendly and give a negative feeling. Even the cashier also give an attitude to customers.
For price, it really depend on what you order, one prata cost around $1+ which is normal price to other stall. I will only come here if i have a urge to eat masala thosai desperately.

Dining table with chequered table top. This is not for decoration only, its the clever idea of the owner for customers to have a match of checkers or other old school games while waiting for food. This is to make their customers avoid using the handphone all the time. Sit back and enjoy a game or 2, laugh it out instead of looking at your handphone all day. Have a game, loser pay for the bill!! Hahahaha

BBQ and garlic chilli winglets available too.

The weirdest ingredients you would find in your pizza - ikan bilis, otah and cucumber. Thick chunk of otah, generous toppings of cheese together with thin and crispy crust makes this local flavour pizza exceptionally outstanding. The spiciness is just right and adds on a punch to this savoury pizza. You would not stop with just one slice. Try eating your nasi lemak in pizza style!

This unique dessert definitely worth mentioning. Bottom layer of nutty pistachio biscuit base topped with light pistachio mousse. A perfect combination of smooth and crunchy texture hit the spot entirely. Overall not too sweet and the vanilla ice cream blends well with it too. Do not leave Potbellies without tasting this dessert.

Potbellies certainly serves awesome food for their patron's bellies. This themed restaurant at the heartland of Tiong Bahru is a good place to chill and have a good meal with your friends or family. Though prices are slightly steep, the food and service certainly worth its value. Plus, the serve is good, the staff will on and off ask you for your opinions or have a chat or 2, interesting engagement which i am amuse and at the same time enjoying. Both indoor and outdoor seats are available. Will come back again to try other exciting dishes on the menu.

Recently went to Pin Si restaurant for my parent birthday celebration. Initially thought there won't be much people for a sunday dinner since this is located in Safra. But i was wrong, there are actually alot of reservations on the list and people are streaming in before 7pm. We order their 10 pax set dinner which cost at $398++. This does not include drinks or rice. If you are a safra member, you get to enjoy 10% off the bill which is quite worth it as you get to earn points for your safra card too. Btw, they can keep your birthday refrigerated, and the staff are willing to help you if you are planning a birthday surprise.

Hua Kee Rojak and BBQ Seafood

Hua Kee Rojak and BBQ Seafood

If you have been t Pasir Panjang food center, you should have known that there are alot of stalls selling seafood. Hence, i am recommending this particular stall, Hua Kee. There are lots of variety of seafood to choose from, stingray to clams to fish to prawns. The food is especially tasty compare to the rest. Recommend all to try.

If you have eaten this before, you know that typical mee goreng are just spicy and dry, sometimes you can just taste the strong yellow mee taste. However, this is actually taste sweet and spicy, abit of limey taste which enhance the Mee goreng flavours. Whats more, seafood mee goreng!!! Seafood such as prawns and squids are cooked together. The dish is big enough for 2-3 person to share.

At first i thought it will be like the shape of what others are seling, round small circle shape of Ngoh Hiang. But it turn out to be big and cut into a oval shape. The Ngoh Hiang consist of various meats like minced pork and prawn and vegetables and other ingredients, which are then rolled inside a beancurd skin and deep-fried. It is served with in house-special sweet sauce.

Just by eating this alone is already very delicious. The meat is well marinated and juicy. Dipped into the sweet sauce to try out different combination between the ngoh hiang and the sauce.

Hot, hot and hot!! Very spicy chili sauce on top of the BBQ stingray. However, i still like it alot. The stingray is juicy and not over cooked. Dipped in their sweet and sour sauce to reduce the spiciness if you cant take so spicy food.

This is one of the popular food center for seafoods and after work dinner place. Alot of variety of food selection for you can be found from this stall. I especially like the food here although it maybe a bit expensive if you are eating alone. Come with some friends and share this wonderful food.
