Korean BBQ OK Mar 21, 2014
Categories : Korean | Hotel | Buffet | Korean BBQ

Good:
- The availability of both cooked and raw food to BBQ makes it great, since we could eat some cooked food while waiting for the raw ones to be cooked. Steamed rice and porridge were provided as well. There were also korean pancakes, pork belly etc.
- There was soup, which is something not common in korean bbq buffets. There were ginseng soup and seaweed soup, which tasted ok to me.
- There was also a salad section and it served kimchi as well.
- The seasoning of meats like pork collar, beef bellies and ribs were good and tasty! Ate quite alot of them.
- Never had to queue as the place is quite empty during lunch.

Not-so-good:
- As it was air-conditioned, our clothes reeked badly of oil smell. Would be terrible if you were returning to work after this meal!
- The variety of raw meat was not huge. I have seen wider spreads elsewhere.
- Drinks were chargeable, much higher than the usual prices we get outside.

Spending per head: Approximately $30

Rooftop dinner OK Mar 21, 2014

Good:
-Ordered the pan-seared norwegian salmon fish. It was wrapped in crispy crust that makes the whole dish looks special. The crust  and the fish, eaten together, taste brilliant!
- Nice ambience dining under the sky, although the view was not exceptionally good due to the low height of the building.

Not-so-good:
-Also ordered the beer-battered fish. In my opinion, it was too dry for my liking.
-Prices of dishes were expensive. So were those of the alcoholic beverages.

Overall:
Will probably not return in the future till i start earning higher salary!

Ramen dinner OK Mar 20, 2014

Categories : Japanese | Ramen

Good:
- Ordered the port ramen in soup. The ramen tastes springy and smooth while the soup flavourful! The pork meat was not too tough and not too dry.
- Ordered the mango juice which was thick and sweet.  However, it was really refreshing. Also ordered pink guava juice which is average.

Not-so-good:
- The soup of the ramen, though flavourful, gets really salty the more you drink. There is also minimal slices of pork. I would have expected more.

Overall:
Might return again if I am at that area and wish to have ramen, since there are no other ramen shops nearby.

Fried chicken cravings OK Mar 20, 2014

Categories : American | Fast Food | Halal

Good:
- Delicious fried chicken from Popeyes! The skin of the chicken is always so tasty and addictive, leaving you wanting for more. The meat is soft yet not too dry. In my opinion, the chicken served in Popeyes is always less oily than KFC's.
- It comes along with a bread/ biscuit, which is something different from KFC.

Not-so-good:
- Although less oily than KFC, we should minimise eating this fried chicken too often due to the amount of oil used to fry the chicken.
- The bread/ biscuit tastes great at the start, but because it is so dry, you would stop eating it halfway into it.

Overall:
Will drop by once in a while when I have cravings for fried chicken.

Good:
- The ambience here at Keppel marina is great! There is beautiful scenery to look at as you eat.
- Ordered the Baked Chicken Thigh with Wholegrain Mustard Sauce. The sauce suits the chicken and the thigh meat is soft and juicy.
- Also ordered the Pan-seared Chicken Breast with Shogayaki Sauce. A unique sauce that tastes great even if eaten alone! Not too salty as well. Surprisely the breast meat was not too dry.

Not-so-good:
- Located away from the nearest mrt. More convenient to drive.
- Prices are abit steep.

Overall:
Because of the high prices, I may not return in the future.
