Delicious Canto food Smile Mar 20, 2014

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Seafood

Good:
- Ordered the pork floss eggplant, which was totally delicious! The eggplants were fried till so crispy that they tasted like chips/ biscuits. They were not too hard nor too soft. Add in the sweet pork floss onto the eggplants as you eat and you will realise how perfect the combination is! Have visited Canto kitchen twice and ordered this dish both times.
- Also ordered roast chicken and it tasted quite good. The meat was soft, although a little oily, and the skin was nice and chewy.
-The restaurant isn't that big but it was a comforatble ambience.

Not-so-good:
-Restaurant prices.

Overall:
Will definitely return again, especially for the pork floss eggplant.

Ice cream buffet Smile Mar 20, 2014

Categories : Ice Cream and Gelato | Pasta | Steaks and Grills | Halal

Good:
- Such a wide variety of ice-cream flavours to choose from! There is peppermint, oreo cookies and cream, chocolate, mango, coffee, strawberry, milo, caramel and so on. There is also free toppings at the side,  which you can add as much as you want!. The unique ones would be kit-kats and macadamia nuts for toppings.
- In addition to ice-creams, there is also a chocolate fondue station, where you can dip strawberries and mashmallows.
- Desserts like cakes, waffles and tarts are available as well. There is oreo cheesecake, apple tarts etc.

Not-so-good:
- The guilt in you increases the more rounds of ice-cream you eat! For those who are on diet, this buffet may not be a great idea, especially since you would not want to eat that much of ice-creams.

Overall:
Nice to experience ice-cream buffet for the first time. However, I felt guilty the more ice-cream I eat. Will drop by only once in a while.

Lunch gathering Smile Mar 18, 2014

Categories : Zi Char

Ordered the 8 pax thai set lunch. There is also a normal chinese set but we decided to try the thai set. We had thai mango salad, which was super spicy but the portion was huge. We then had cereal prawns which tastes great. The cereals were sweet and addictive, but the prawns were small. Next there was thai style fried rice, which tastes very much like normal fried rice. There is aldo steamed fish. The fish was fresh and had lots of meat. In addition, there were fried squid and thai style chicken. The squids were crispy and tasty. The place had aircon, which was great for a warm day. Ordered lychee drink which was cooling for a warm afternoon. Not bad in overall for lunch set!

Recommended Dish(es):  Fried squid

Spending per head: Approximately $25(Lunch)

Where joy can really be found Smile Mar 17, 2014

Categories : Steamboat/Hot Pot

Good:
- A wide variety of dishes to choose from for the steamboat! Dishes include beef and pork shabu shabu, shitake and other types of mushrooms, more than 4 types of vegetables, the different types of noodles and much more!
- Choice of a few types of soups, which includes pork bone soup, tom yam soup, chicken soup and so on. Love the tom yam soup most! Appetising and addictive!
- Doesn't seem to leave much oil smell on clothes.
- Friendly local service staff
- They even have a toilet for customers to use.
- Great for large-group gatherings.

Not-so-good:
- Insufficient parking space around that area.
- No cooked food provided and just water and lime juice to choose from for drinks.

Overall:
Will return again in future! Will also recommend to friends.

Good:
- Ordered Poulet Roti, which was actually roasted chicken. The chicken tastes fragrant and the meat was not as dry as it looked!
- Ordered mushroom with poached eggs. The sauteed mushroom tastes appetising and tasty. The topping of an egg makes it a unique dish.
- Ordered their popular tiramisu. Tastes fantastic! Spongy and smooth, this dessert is a must-have!

Overall:
Will definitely return again in the future.
