Decided to try the new korean restaurant Bibigo at Suntec city mall. On my friday afternoon, the restaurant is almost full with many office people around. The restaurant is not too smoky and spacious with sufficient seatings.
We orered the Hotstone bibimbap and Spicy pork soup. Eager for the bibimbap, we were disappointed that it turned out less flavourful than we thought it would be. The sauce seemed insufficient and there was broccoli in it. Not quite the usual kind. I ordered hotstone because i had wanted the rice to turn out a little charred but it did not. The portion was not too big either. The only thing good was the marinated pork, which tasted perfect and totally addictive! The sauce on it was sweet and i would definitely order their meat set in future!
The spicy pork soup comes with a bowl of rice. It turned out less spicy than i though it would be. In fact, it was not spicy at all! The soup had tofu, pieces of pork strips and vegetable. Eaten with the rice, this dish is great! I almost wanted to order another bowl of their fragrant rice to finish up the remaining soup.
Complimentary water is available here and pricing is not too bad.

Visited the korean restaurant at Heartlands Mall in Kovan. Have always walked past it during weekends lunch and dinner time and always saw long queues outside the restaurant. Decided to try it for myself today. The restaurant itself is quite small with what seened like less than 20 tables. Ordered Spicy Grilled Mackerel, Korean Ginseng Soup and Korean pancake. The mackerel turned out to be spicier than i thought! The fish meat itself was not too dry and has a nice flavour to it. The korean ginseng soup was delicious. It was thick and felt as though it has been boiled together with many ingredients. The pancakes were the best! Mildy spicy, it jas kimchi flavour in it and the texture is perfect, not too hard to bite or soggy. Addictive! They serve complimentary rice barley water too. Overall, not too bad but a tad pricey!

Dinner by the river OK Dec 22, 2014

Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Bars/Lounges

Chose Dallas along the Singapore river. It was really empty on a Sunday night! Perhaps due to it being a non working day - No office workers staying back for drinks! We sat near to the river outdoors and it had a weird smell from the river. we then shifted places away from the river. Ordered Roast Chicken and Penne Pasta. The serving size was good. The pasta had a little spices and was aglio olio style. It came with shreded chicken meat. Initially i thought that it would be a chicken patty! My friend ordered duck confit but it was not filling. The meat was not too dry and was average. A little pricey though. Service staff were not too friendly as well.

XXL pizza! Smile Dec 22, 2014

When we went there at 7.45pm on a weekday, the queue was super long! Had to wait for at least 30minutes and they would not let you in until all are present. No reservations too. It was my second time trying Peperoni. Once we went in, there were a huge variety of pizzas on the menu. We had 4 of us, so we decided to take the XXL ($50) size while choosing 2 types of pizza. We ordered Prosciutto Crudo di Parma (Pork), which consisted of parma ham and rocket salad, and Quattro Formaggi, which contains Mozzarella, taleggio, scamorza & gorgonzola cheese. It took around 15 minutes for the pizza to arrive, which was fine. It was sliced into 52 slices for our convenience. The latter was good, for those who love cheese. The former was better in my opinion, as the ham and rocket salad mixed up to be really delicious and appetising. The crust of the pizza was not too thick like pizza hut, but they were not too thin like skinny pizza. Suits me perfectly!
The only downpoint was that an XXL pizza was not quite enough for 4 guys as we went to have desserts elsewhere thereafter.

After trying Ice Edge Cafe, we decided to try Hatter Street to see how it fares. We went there at around 9pm on a Wednesday so there was no queue. However, because there were not many tables itself, so it was relatively full. We ordered 2 waffles to try: Vanilla ice cream with salted caramel sauce and chocolate ice cream with chocolate sauce. Not much variety and nothing faciful. The waffles were belgian waffles. They were big enough for 2 person to share and they were really crispy! They were warm too when served, though they quickly got cold in a matter of minutes. Chocolate ice cream can never go wrong. Am not a huge fan of vanilla ice cream. But the salted caramel sauce was a good compliment to the waffle and ice cream. Priced at $8.90 per waffle, not too bad! Water was complimentary by the side, self serviced.
