Quick lunch OK Mar 21, 2014

Ordered the chicken baked rice and it was delicious! The cheese layer on top of the rice is well-baked, with some stretches in brown while some in yellowish white. The cheese remains very much semi-liquid and as you scoop up the rice, the cheese sticks together, making it difficult to break off. The rice is also served with tomatoes and broccoli, which makes it very chinese-style. The rice itself is a little hard and dry at times. Would be great to have some drinks to accompany this dish. Ordered ice lemon tea which showed some signs of being really homemade.

Thai lunch Smile Mar 21, 2014

Ordered their fried rice. Fragrant and flavourful, it is served warm and prompt. Cooked with springy fresh prawns and fried with egg, the rice doesn't taste hard, like other places' fried rice. There are also a couple of cashew nuts placed on top of the rice, making the whole dish quite presentable. However, it is not quite different from the chinese style of fried rice. Nevertheless, will definitely return again one day to enjoy it!

Pizza in USS Smile Mar 21, 2014

Categories : Pasta

- Relatively affordable food in USS!
- They had a wide variety of pizzas available. Pizzas include the magarita, pepperoni, hawaiian and so on. The pizzas taste good, despite the breaded crust being a little hard. The serving portion for the pizza was huge too, which is makes one full easily.
- There were other side dishes like chicken wings and lagsana. The chicken wings were well-marinated and flavourful.
- They had outdoor sitting as well, which at night, is cooling.
- Self-service style of ordering and paying at the counter. However, the pizza will be delivered to your table.

Will definitely have my meal here again if I ever go back to USS.

Korean BBQ OK Mar 21, 2014

Good:
- The availability of both cooked and raw food to BBQ makes it great, since we could eat some cooked food while waiting for the raw ones to be cooked. Steamed rice and porridge were provided as well. There were also korean pancakes, pork belly etc.
- There was soup, which is something not common in korean bbq buffets. There were ginseng soup and seaweed soup, which tasted ok to me.
- There was also a salad section and it served kimchi as well.
- The seasoning of meats like pork collar, beef bellies and ribs were good and tasty! Ate quite alot of them.
- Never had to queue as the place is quite empty during lunch.

Not-so-good:
- As it was air-conditioned, our clothes reeked badly of oil smell. Would be terrible if you were returning to work after this meal!
- The variety of raw meat was not huge. I have seen wider spreads elsewhere.
- Drinks were chargeable, much higher than the usual prices we get outside.

Spending per head: Approximately $30

Rooftop dinner OK Mar 21, 2014

Categories : Bars/Lounges | Hotel

Good:
-Ordered the pan-seared norwegian salmon fish. It was wrapped in crispy crust that makes the whole dish looks special. The crust  and the fish, eaten together, taste brilliant!
- Nice ambience dining under the sky, although the view was not exceptionally good due to the low height of the building.

Not-so-good:
-Also ordered the beer-battered fish. In my opinion, it was too dry for my liking.
-Prices of dishes were expensive. So were those of the alcoholic beverages.

Overall:
Will probably not return in the future till i start earning higher salary!
