Western Sets Smile Jun 03, 2011

Categories : Singaporean Western

Some time back, we visited this restaurant located around NTU alumni club house. The restaurant was very quiet on a weekend but the ambiance was rather cozy. I ordered a grilled fish set while my brother ordered a chicken chop with rice set. Both tasted just as great as it looked. The dishes were very nicely presented and overall I would consider it a satisfying meal.

Soft Bread OK Jun 01, 2011
Categories : Bakery | Brunch

Its my first time buying bread from this outlet so I decided to stick with my old favorite- cream cheese bread. The bread was okay and it tasted quite decent. Very soft, fluffy and the cheese melts in your mouth. If only they sold more localized flavors like durian. The durian cream cheese bread is sold in another bakery called -JuzBread. The staffs are very quick and efficient in packing the buns into plastic bags.

Yummy Buffet! Smile Jun 01, 2011

One weekday afternoon, we headed to Straits Cafe at Rendezvous Hotel for a sumptuous lunch. The buffet was pretty good, with a wide spread of variety. Some of the highlights were their laksa, crabs and durian desserts which I tremendously enjoyed. Their sushi and sashimi were fresh and delicious! Also equally good was their crabs and prawns. There were many types of durian desserts like durian puffs, durian puree (my favorite), cakes and crepes. Service was average though. The staffs were not very attentive as they forgot to fill our glasses with water. The buffet could be better with more drinks offered instead of just coffee/tea/tea-tarik. Best if there were a vending machine for drinks! =p

Chicken Pie Bun OK May 30, 2011
Categories : Bakery

One weekend morning, I decided to pop by this bakery to try their bread. Got a chicken pie bun to try and it tasted average. The fillings inside consists of some potatoes, peas, corns and a bit of chicken. I guess its a little different from the usual chicken pies since its shape was rather special-triangular. Also, there was a bit of melted cheese on top of the bread. The cashier auntie was polite and friendly as she made small chats with other customers.

Raisin Cream Cheese Smile May 30, 2011

I love buying bread from this chain because of the variety. Their promotion is currently any 3 buns for $2.50. My favorite bread however, is not from the range on promotion. It is their raisin cream cheese bread which is very soft and fresh. Best to come early in the morning where their cream cheese is served warm from the oven. The fluffy texture of the bread and cream cheese just melts in one's mouth so heavenly. Try it!
