Swensen's Lobster! Smile Nov 19, 2014

Was looking for a place for a good lunch with my mum after shopping at Compass Point and saw the new poster for Swensen's, the new Boston Lobster Roll! Looks pretty delicious, thus decided to give it a try.

If you are one who likes thick and creamy mushroom soup, you would definitely need to try out at Swensen's! They serves one of the thickest mushroom soup I ever had. Surprisingly, my mum loves its mushroom soup, thus its a must order everytime we visit Swensen's. As for me, would just say that its far too normal, the baguette that holds the mushroom soup is also way too hard to chew.

Mummy decided to opt for something that is more heavy, the cornflake chicken! This is one of my favourites at Swensen's, although its a little too dry and the cornflake flavour is rather too little. Fries at Swensen's is one of my biggest nightmare. They chose to serve thick fries, thus for those who loves those shoestring fries will love this. As for those who loves those criss-cut or straight fries will not like it. The coleslaw, without fail will always refresh my mind, with the pieces of pineapple and sauce added to the mixed vegetables and carrots.

The limelight of the day! The Boston Lobster Roll. The portion might seems small on the picture, but its rather filling! Chunks of boston lobsters, with a sweet yet little spicy sauce, mixed well with the slightly toasted bun. The only complain I could have is its presentation. I would say its not really convenient to eat especially with fork and knife.

All in all, spent a total of $49 after 17% charges. Fufilling lunch indeed!

Sticks of Goodness! Smile Dec 18, 2013

Passed by and bought 3 sticks of Nuggets as dinner. Bought one stick of Fish Nugget, Chicken Nugget and Prawn Nugget. ($1.60/stick).

Their version of nuggets are very unique and special, especially the chickwn and prawn nugget. The ingredients used are very fresh, and the nuggets are very crispy.

My favourite amongst the three sticks is the prawn nugget. The prawn nugget has a taste that is cannot be described. Can only use one word to represent it - Bagus!

Burger Smile Dec 16, 2013

For $2.60, you can get a delicious Chicken or Fish Burger.

With a slice of cheese, some vegetables and a piece of chicken or filiet, top with some ketchup or chilli sauce, its really heavenly.

This time, I choose the fish burger, without vegetable. The fish filiet is not overfried, just nice. The outside is crispy, while inside is soft. The burger is slightly toasted, added with a piece of melted cheese, it really makes it a good supper.

Great Popiah Smile Dec 11, 2013

Categories : Peranakan / Nonya | Hawker Centre

This shop seems to be quite quiet during today's lunchtime while the other stalls are having queues, thus I decide to get some Popiahs ($1.40/roll). Other than ready-to-eat Popiah, they also sell Popiah Skin ($15), grounded crispy peanuts ($2), other Popiah Ingredients and also Kueh Pie Tee (5 for $3).

The key to make a nice popiah is actually its steamed/stir-fried vegetables and also its chilli sauce. This stall has it all. They are very generous on its crispy peanuts and also the amount of vegetables. They used grated cucumber, bean sprouts and vegetables, with chilli sauce, sweet sauce and peanuts to enhance its taste. The skin of the Popiah is also not too thick. For a price of $1.40/roll, its really worth a try.

20" Pizza! Smile Dec 09, 2013

Categories : American | Restaurant | Pasta

Believe many of us have tried 6" pizza, 9" pizza, 12" pizza, 15" pizza, but I bet not many of us tried before a 20" pizza! Quite unique, as most pizza chains does not offer such big pizzas! Bought a 20" Hawaiian Pizza for a gathering. ($39.90).

Hawaiian Pizza is actually quite nice, they're very generous on their ingredients, ham and pineapples are generally quite fresh, for such a big pizza, only at $40, its really worth the money. Furthermore, they've great service and also, some of the side dishes such as wedges with cheese is also worth a try. But please give them 20 minutes to prepare the pizza! And also, they don't have a bag/plastic bag for the 20" pizza! You've to carry using your hand!
