Costa Coffee OK Dec 01, 2013
Categories : English | Burgers and Sandwiches

Was there at its opening ceremony to try out some of its food.

313 Somerset Costa Coffee is one of its newest outlets, it is directly opposite Marche.

Costa Coffee serves great coffee and some mini bites. We tried out its Tuna Meltz on Soft Bageutte as well as its Pesto Chicken on bread. The Tuna Meltz is quite delicious, with the bread being toasted and with the melted tuna, it makes a perfect pairing. As for its Pesto chicken, there's nothing really special about it.

Blancy Tarts! OK Nov 19, 2014
Categories : Bakery | Desserts and Cakes

Went to Alive Museum and was looking for a place for a cosy and relaxing afternoon tea break. Found this humble nest for desserts, Tart Blanc!

The friend decided to go for the bread option, its presentation is definitely a plus point! Bread was delicious, and it was served with iceberg lettuce as well as some potato bites!

A rather refreshing way of serving Earl Grey Tea. Find this method of serving very appealing and interesting, it gives their customers a better and more fond impression of the place!

This is the Raspberry Tart, with its crisp base and sweet toppings, it makes a perfect match. Abit too sweet though.

This is the Chocolate Tart, similarly, it has a crispy base, with chocolate filling above it. Am not really a chocolatey person, so don't really like this. While, my friend loved this!

This is a creamier version of cheesecake. With the blueberry and raspberry topping, it makes a wonderful match. This is my favourite of the night!

All in all, spent a total of $41 for 2 drinks, 3 tarts as well as 1 pita bread. For the quality of the product, $41 is definitely worth it. But abit overpriced is you are intending of have afternoon tea here. If you are intending to look for a place that can spend a wonderful afternoon reading a book or serving the net, it will be a great place!

Buffet Smile Dec 17, 2013

Was there last year for a wedding dinner, this restaurant actually serves quite delicious food. Thus decided to try it out again, but this time on its Dinner Buffet. ($16.80++).

Their dinner buffet has the same rule as their Dim Sum Buffet, minimum 4 pax to dine. And they serve small portion for 4-6 pax, medium portion for 6-8 pax and large portion for 8-10 pax.

Tried out its Jelly Fish, Prawn Salad and Octopus for appetizer. The Prawn Salad was quite nice, with fruits included, not too sweet and has the fruits taste as well.

Also tried out its sweet & sour chicken, sweet & sour fish and hotplate beancurd and also some other dishes.

Overall, the food there is quite nice, their portion is also definitely enough. Worth a try if you hadn't been there yet.

Spending per head: Approximately $19(Dinner)

Good Egg Tarts! Smile Dec 17, 2013
Categories : Bakery | Coffeeshop

This is the place if you would like to look for good breakfast sets or simply just some good egg tart.

They serves great kaya toast ($1) and also hard boiled eggs. My favourite amongst all is the egg tart and the chocolate tart. The egg tart is very fragrant, and the skin of the egg tart is not too hard neither too soft. As for the chocolate tart, its seldom found in Singapore. The amount of chocolate used is also very generous, not too sweet as well.

Buns & Kwehs! Smile Dec 10, 2013
Categories : Bakery | Halal

This Bakery sells many varieties of buns and kwehs. As early as 7am, their buns and kwehs are all ready to serve the customer. Buns are made hot and fresh out from the oven.

Bought its Mini Fish Filiet Buns (3 for $2.40) and some Nonya Ang Ku Kuehs (50 cents each).

Their mini fish filiet buns are filled with mayonnise sauce, a slice of cheese and fish filiet. As for the bun, I believe they've buttered the bun before making it, which gives it a shiny look. The fish filiet taste quite normal, not really recommended though.

As for the Ang Ku Kuehs, its a definitely Thumbs Up! For $0.50, you get a big ang ku lueh, filled with lots of red bean paste or peanuts! My favourite amongst all is the Peanut Ang Ku Kueh. The peanuts inside the kueh is really tasty and the kueh is nicely made.

As shown in the picture, the there's two type of Ang Ku Kuehs. The grey colour one contains red bean filling while the red colour ones contains Peanut feeling. Definitely worth a try!
