Birthday celebration part two Smile Dec 29, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Restaurant

Came here for part 2 of a birthday celebration and was lucky to get the last indoor table available. The space is quite packed as I believe the cafe is open 24/7.

The cream puff was served 3 in a row with chocolate icecream in the middle (comparable to awfully chocolate). We asked the waiter for a candle and he was very fast in delivering it and lighting the candle.

The Rose milkshake was very fine without too flavorful and sweet, yet with the scent of rose dominantly there.

We saw that tables around us were ordering courses and the smell of pasta cooked on the spot was very aromatic and made our stomachs grumble. Would like to try their hot food sometime.

American food Smile Dec 29, 2013

Categories : American | Bars/Lounges | Pasta | Steaks and Grills | Burgers and Sandwiches

Although the exterior of the restaurant venue looks run down, the interior seems rather well-kept. It was almost as if you were brought into a different world upon entering.

The aircon was on full blast and it was really cold, I wonder if how cold the restaurant was contributed to how fast the food got cold so quickly. The service was really good because the waitress, Geraldine, actually told us that she wouldn't recommend that we order more as she thought it would be enough. Though we weren't quite as full as we thought we'd be after the meal, I think it was rather good of the waitress to recommend what she did instead of just silently recording all the orders. There was also a manager walking around and checking on all the tables--I got to say the service is probably one of the best I've had in Singapore in recent months.

The portion wasn't as big as I thought they may be--it might have shrunk down from the typical American portion to cater to the Asian crowd, but it's still decently huge.

Ribs and Pulled Pork Combo.

There are many ways that you can order the ribs and we decided to try the ribs and pulled pork combination so that we could taste the best of both worlds. The food, unfortunately got cold quickly, but I'd have to say the ribs were better than the pulled pork. The pulled pork was served on top of a slice of bread, but it wasn't particularly savory and felt a tad dry.

For an add-on of about $5, you could add on the salad. We ordered the Caesar Salad and it was tossed nicely. I'd say it's a very worth it ad-on and it paired nicely with our main course.

We wanted something small for dessert as we had a sweet tooth--the presentation surprised us as the cheesecake was served in a small cup and it was literally cream cheese with a tiramisu-like powdery top. The way they draped the chocolate syrup on the interior and along the glass did add points to the presentation.

Sesame Mcflurry Smile Dec 29, 2013
Categories : American | Fast Food | Ice Cream and Gelato | Burgers and Sandwiches | Kids-Friendly

Having seen the advertisements that have been going around, I was finally able to get my hands on the sesame mcflurry! It's definitely more worth it than the green tea mcflurry as for the matcha mcflurry, they pretty much they put green tea powder on the ice cream. The little cereal bits is similar to what they put on their horlicks mcflurry, but the black sesame add-on that they have is just right without being too sweet and yet, still retaining the smell of sesame.

They do not serve this in the place where you place your order for food, but at the dessert kiosk outside.

First time for this stall Smile Dec 17, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Sichuan | Food Court | Steamboat/Hot Pot

I last saw this stall almost a year ago and was surprised that it was still around. The aromas that come out from the kitchen always seems so enticing and you can hear the fires that are ongoing in the kitchen.

The bowl is super huge and it has a decent presentation

The spoon has holes in it so that the oil can be sifted out when you take your food

There's always an ongoing line there

The food was not cheap it was $28 total and we had Kang Kong, White Cabbage, a bit of shrimp, beef, chicken, and pork. The food is priced based on the weight of your food and the cost per gram. Your dishes are cooked in their house mala sauce and garnished with some peanuts.

I don't eat chili padi but I could take the mala sauce as long as I had a bowl of rice. It's really a very satisfying meal as the food is served hot and it makes you feel warm inside. The trick is not to let it touch your lips and to avoid biting on the black small pepper balls which will make you feel numb. Overall, though priced high, my tummy did not get upset from the food so I definitely will consider heading back there sometime mad

Firewood Pizza didn't impress me OK Nov 29, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Italian | Hotel | Pasta | Pizza

Their ravioli presentation wasn't great but it was very tasty. The portions looked meager when it arrived but any more may have resulted to not being able to eat anymore. Good dish to order to share for a few pieces each. The cheese was very nice with the bread.

The firewood pizza which is supposed to be their specialty didn't wow me. Though they had 2 pages full of selections, it was hard to decide which ingredients to choose and try.

Their soup was quite worth it because for 1 order, the server asked if we wanted it in 2 separate bowls and it was filled to the brim. Only thing we were quite upset about was the waiter asked if we wanted garlic bread (which they charge you additional). If you don't order the garlic bread, they have bread on the house which comes with nice dips sad

The bartender was quite open with mixing drinks according to your preferences.
