On weekdays, the high tea buffet is 19.80++ per adult pax from 3-5pm. Do make a reservation beforehand as all the tables were filled up even though it was a weekday. They do charge for GST and service charge but the service in the restaurant is really good. They are very fast in filling up your hot tea and getting your orders. Despite them pushing their push cart and carrying trays of food around, their organization doesn't allow them to miss their customers and are able to deliver the food still piping hot to your table.

Though the dimsum is from 3-5pm, their last order started around 4:15pm. Do go there on time so you get to have the whole experience. There is also complimentary calamansi juice lol

There was way too many dimsum and food offerings on the day but I've included some of the better options and food to avoid.
paper wrapped chicken

paper wrapped chicken

Paper wrapped chicken. Didn't know this dish existed! And I'm glad there's no limit on how many you can eat. The chicken while a little hard to get to since you need to tear through the paper, it's flavor was similar to the pandan chicken that you can eat at thai restaurants.
black sesame

black sesame

Black Sesame was served hot, thick, and felt very authentic as if they did it in-house.
fried fish skin

fried fish skin

Fried Fish Skin with salted egg powder. very nice to snack on when you're on the brink of being so full
curry bao and eggtart

curry bao and eggtart

Their curry puff is a bao that is filled with curry chicken, carrots, and potatos, and then fried. Very refreshing way of presentation. The eggtart was soft, flaky, without being too oily and the size of the tart was just right.
fried tofu skin

fried tofu skin

fried tofu skin was perfecto.
cheong fun

cheong fun

char siu cheong fun was ok. not horrible nor enough to rave about. their char siu bao was very on the spot though.
phoenix claws

phoenix claws

Phoenix Claws were served hot and the claws were removed. The sauce, I believe was XO sauce and was just right, though a tad oily.
steamed pork ribs

steamed pork ribs

Steamed Pork Ribs with Black beans (we ordered two of this). Flavored and steamed very well.
fried shrimp and gyoza

fried shrimp and gyoza

Fried Gyoza and Prawns were crunchy and hot so it didn't feel very oily. Would have been perfect with wasabi mayo.
wasabi mayo, duck meat, and shark fin

wasabi mayo, duck meat, and shark fin

Every pax is entitled to only one serving of the above. The bowl is the shark fin soup which was very generous with its shark fin and the texture was very thick and just what I had in mind. The shell for the wasabi mayo 'abalone' was cold, though the abalone seems to be more like squid than abalone.
congee

congee

salted egg and minced pork congee was not that great. save your stomach space unless you really like congee
pork jelly

pork jelly

though this is a chef recommendation, this is probably the one dish I would never want to eat anymore should I go back.

The meal was about $50 for 2 after the GST and service charge which is quite worth it if it covers your lunch and dinner for that day--and you get to satisfy your dimsum craving!

Nachos craving satisfied Smile Nov 28, 2013

nachos

nachos

These are exactly how Nachos are supposed to be- not those doritos you get at the movies with nachos cheese, but tortilla chips with a layer of refried beans, cheese, chicken/beef, and jalapenos. They are sort of expensive at $20+ a plate, but I assure you they're filling and great to share with friends smile

The oreo ice cream is not anything special to write about. It literally is a big scoop of vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup topped off with an oreo cookie.

Cheap Fruit Juice Smile Nov 28, 2013
Categories : Bakery

While Cake History sells bread, this branch also sells fruit juice. Instead of considering the fruit juices on the signboard, you should consider the "Juice of the day". At first, I thought it was just one type of juice a day, but it turns out that the ones that are displayed and ready to go are the juices that they are referring to.

It really saves on money (approx $2 a cup) and it's fruit juice that you can hear them blending behind. They usually have soursop or lime juice and those are my go to choices. I used to frequent the bubble tea shops around the corner, but upon discovering this gem, this is my go to place to get a drink after a meal at toa payoh hub smile

The lady is also quite patient in waiting for you to choose your drink and I saw once that she helped poke the straw in a customer's cup after the customer's request without giving any weird or dirty looks.

Spiked Milkshakes & Buffalo Wings Smile Apr 05, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Bars/Lounges | Restaurant | Burgers and Sandwiches

Hidden around the corner of Perak Road near Little India, is this Diner cafe that I thought I'd never find in Singapore.

The deco may be similar to Billy Bomber's, but the feel of the place is quite different. The deco and music made it more authentic. Probably the closest feel that I've got that's similar to Diner's in the US or what we see in the movies.

Friend ordered the Asahi beer.

The waitress asked if we wanted Chili sauce in addition to the Buffalo wings, but they were made on the spot so they were fresh and hot. They also didn't skimp on the Tabasco sauce so the Chili sauce was unnecessary. They were missing a blue cheese dip but I'd say that it's a pretty mean and savory Buffalo wing dish.

Strawberry Spiked Milkshake was very good. The alcohol was there without being it too strong. The Ice cream was not too sweet where you'd get sick of it (unlike McDonalds Milkshake), or perhaps the Kahlua was a good balance to the Strawberry.

What I'd come back for would be their spiked milkshakes and Buffalo Wings. Please come support this diner as I believe it serves great good, doesn't rush the customers and you can just chill with your friends. There weren't any live bands playing when we were there but it looks like certain nights they may have live performances.

Mexican food! OK Jul 10, 2012
Categories : American | Burgers and Sandwiches

Really miss mexican food and happened to be in RW Sentosa for dinner and saw that the queue outside Chili's was still manageable.

The Guacamole can be added to your Quesdailas as a side at an extra 2-3 dollars. They were made just right and the portion was great to share amongst others. Good deal mad

The boneless buffalo chicken was slightly disappointing as the chicken was obviously frozen meat that had been fried. It was rather misleading as we thought we were in for some actual chicken meat instead of the frozen type of chicken meat, though they did state 'boneless'. The bleu cheese was about right but the chicken didn't seem very 'buffalo' like (comparing this to the taste and sauce of Buffalo Wings)

If you don't mind, opt to sit by the bar and you may be able to get seats faster!
