Frog Porridge Smile Nov 28, 2013

With 5 or 6 different flavors to choose from, it's hard to decide which claypot you want to order. Apparently, their house specialty is their white pepper frog leg, but they do have the classic garlic, spring onion, to frog legs with chicken essence.

Seating was quite easy to find, and we ordered the white pepper frog claypot and the sauce goes really well with the porridge and warms you right up. Perfect for a rainy or cold day.

Decided to try their fried frog legs, but they don't seem to be able to do an awesome a job as the claypot. There was too much flour and the portion was just too much to handle after a while.

Their vegetables were served hot, but don't bother ordering their egg omelet as the oysters in there weren't very fresh and still had sand in them (come on, it's a place that specializes in frog porridge). Order the frog porridge and try not to experiment too much with their seafood.

They really are good in marketing though cause ordering 2 frogs means they will give you 1 additional frog free..etc.

Prawn noodles with Pork Ribs Smile Nov 27, 2013

Categories : Food Court | Noodles

According to my friend, this store has been around a long time and it's good enough that he sometimes have a craving for it.

It's my first time having prawn noodles with pork ribs. Honestly, I'm not too big a fan of prawn noodles cause I usually find that the soup is too salty and I feel really thirsty afterwards. The taste was just right and it wasn't too bland so I didn't get sick of the taste. The portions of hte noodle was also a lot so this bowl would definitely fill you up.

The meat was not too fatty but still soft enough so it wouldn't stick in your teeth smile

The lady who was serving was friendly and was open to refiling the bubbling soup when it was depleted.

Christmas Drinks Smile Nov 25, 2013

Cranberry White Chocolate Mocha with no whipped is very christmasy. The small salt bits inside doesn't make the drinks overly sweet, which a lot of frappucinos sometimes do.

The black croissant intrigued me to try it and upon ordering I realized it was actually vegetarian. The staff warmed it up and it was an interesting blend of salty and sweet. The white sugary coat vs. the cheese that was the filling.

The environment at Liat Towers is very cozy and quite conducive for studying (as opposed to ION's starbucks)

Private Function Smile Nov 25, 2013

I helped organized a private function at 10 Scotts to celebrate Thanksgiving. The staff were really helpful in trying to cater to our request, however, there was a slight scare a week before the actual event as the team had lost the Order Form. Luckily, that was resolved and there was no need for a change of dates. Organizing with the team was rather confusing as a different person is in charge and you would get different replies from different people.

On site though, the waitresses are very attentive and courteous. They are very good at looking at the situation and their actions are rather fast.

We organized a Thanksgiving event and the team at 10 Scotts got us a Turkey station as well as pumpkin pie, in addition to the buffet spread and free flow soft drinks & coffee/tea. Per individual, we paid about 60 USD to cover the ++.

Though the Turkey wasn't as savory as what it was like in the US, they did a decent job at roasting it.

The eggtarts were rather cold, but the rose macaroons with raspberries was an absolute delight. There is also ice cream upon request, and I'm a huge fan of their rouge tea.

Overall, it's a decent venue to organize a cosy event

Lychee Martini & Soursop Smile Apr 11, 2013

Categories : Café | Ice Cream and Gelato

If you're there on a Sunday afternoon, don't be disheartened if Pluck isn't opened exactly at the time that the opening hours is stated.
Not sure if it's a common thing or if it just happened on that weekend, but Pluck wasn't open till mid-afternoon.

Seats do fill up quickly though and luckily the lady who was serving was quite patient in our inability to make choices. Finally opted for the Lychee Martini & Soursop. I really like fruity flavors so I was glad when the ice cream did not taste overly sweet. The ice cream did not melt super quickly and the seating area is small but rather quaint.

Definitely was refreshing on a hot day, however, be aware that not many stores were opened on Sunday at Arab Street.
