Watami Smile Apr 25, 2012

Went to Watami at Ion Orchard last Saturday with one of my friends. Have been craving for Japanese food for a long time. Flipped over the menu, and we found that they actually provides set meal for two or four person. So, my friend and I decided to order the special food for two which cost around $55.

The set meal consists of watami salad, a main dish, hot pot, additional add on to hot pot, two side dishes and two beverages. For the main dish, hot pot and side dishes, you would get to choose from a list of choices.

Watami salad: The salad was really awesome. The salad consists of crunchy fresh lettuce, slices of grilled chicken, mayonnaise and salmon fish egg. The salad is really a great appetizer.
Salmon bimbibap (main dish)

OF all the dishes, my favorite are salad, hot pot and salmon sashimi. The salmon sashimi was really really fresh and every slices was thick enough. The kimchi hot pot suits me well as the soup base was sour and spicy! lol

Spending per head: Approximately $55(Dinner)

Haagen-dazs Smile Apr 24, 2012

Went to Haagen-dazs at Bishan Junction 8 with two of my friends to try this chocolate fondue.

The chocolate fondue set was $49.90 which was suitable for three person to share. 14 scoops of ice cream are given and the flavors consist of strawberry, coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Besides that, there were cookies, brownies, strawberries, banana and peach. I enjoyed the chocolate cookies and cake cubes the most. Imagine the chocolate cookies dipped in melted chocolate, so chocolatey it’s just so wonderful! Since Haagen Dazs was generous enough to provide the amount of melted chocolate given, we didn’t hold back with the dipping. A small light is placed under the ceramic pot to keep the chocolate stay melted.
The chocolate fondue is really good and worth to have a try!

Spending per head: Approximately $49.90(Tea)

Starbucks Smile Apr 23, 2012

The Starbucks' Ney York Cheesecake is always my favorite because it is more tasty than the traditional one. There are a total of three toppings for you to choose from, which are seasonal berries, chocolate sauce and rich caramel. I always love the original one. The smell of the cheese is really very strong. The cake is soft and cream and you can feel the cheese inside your mouth. It is really really delicious and it is always the best combination with a cup of coffee. Try it and you'll know!! lollol

I was so impressed with the food at Paradise Inn as the food over there are really delicious and worth the price. The ambience and service of the restaurant was good so you will definitely feel comfortable when dining at the restaurant. Here are some dishes that I have tried before:

宫保鸡丁: The chicken ball were fried til so crispy with a layer of sweet and sour sauce. The most creative part is they actually added lychee into this dish.

招牌闷茄子: The eggplant were braised and served in a claypot which maintained the temperature of the dish. There are minced meat inside the gravy which you can put some gravy on your rice and consume it.

Spending per head: Approximately $30(Lunch)

MOF Smile Apr 22, 2012

Had dinner at MOF Japanese Sweets & Coffee@ Ang Mo Kio Hub. We ordered two courses.

Set 1: Unagi with tamago bento set. the unagi is fresh and being grilled til just nice. The rice are fragrance and taste greatly with the unagi sauce.

Second set is the Japanese salmon tomato sauce pasta. I had never tried before the Japanese style of pasta. The sauce is tomato base mixed with small bits of salmon meat. This create a strong salmon flavor in the normal tomato sauce itself. Overall it is actually a great combination.
