This was my second visit to Megumi. The first was on a weekend, and the restaurant was bursting to the seams, due to ongoing promotions with different merchants and deal sites. To get to the restaurant, you can take a bus from Clementi MRT station (52, 154, 184) and alight five stops later. Just alight in front of the stop where you can see the huge sign 'Sunset Way'.

On the Thursday evening we were there, the restaurant was about half-filled with reservation stands placed at several tables. The service was more prompt than on the previous weekend. We got a seat in the corner, and ordered the dishes below.

First up was the soft-shell crab, which would have tasted better if it was crispier. I liked the dip that was served with it.

Next came the cod fish ramen, which had a huge serving of noodles. Suitable for sharing between two people, with orders of some side dishes. The soup base was tasty, and I would have liked more of the garnishing. The ramen seemed rather popular, as there were several people who ordered it.

The last dish was the Tempura, which rounded up the meal nicely. It was crispy and went well with the sauce served.

We spent about $42++, without drinks and inclusive of taxes.

Ji Ji Wanton Smile Aug 31, 2013

Ji Ji Wanton is THE place to go for in Hong Lim when you want quality noodles at reasonable prices. They have dumpling noodles and hor fun too but wanton noodles is their specialty. Their noodles are springy, char siew is firm and wanton are plump and juicy. The queue may be long but it is worth the wait. Usually, the wait is not that long as they are very efficient unless it's during the lunchtime peak.

Spending per head: Approximately $3

MOF  Smile Feb 11, 2013

Located at the basement of AMK Hub, I always see the place quite packed at all times of the day. I decided to check out the place. MOF has a good chill-out vibe and you feel like staying there for a long time. Plus you can people-watch! Anyway, my friend and I tried out the Chicken curry bento and Cream soup ramen with salmon meatballs. My friend loved her bento and my ramen was also nice but I felt it could have been less salty. But a nice place overall.

Swensen's Smile Feb 11, 2013

Swensen's r Orchard is located at a very specific part of Ion, yet I am surprised at the number of people who manage to find their way there. To get there, you can go through Orchard Xchange. The place was packed on a weekday at dinner time and we had to wait for a table to available. I had the fish and chips and it was the usual standard, considering the crowd. Both the fries and the fish were crispy and service was prompt once we were seated.

Laksa galore Smile Feb 11, 2013

I'm sure everyone has had steamboat at one point in time, but have you ever had laksa steamboat? Well, Laksania made sure I did and it was a very memorable (and full) experience. It's like any typical steamboat, except that the soup base is Laksa. I chose the Seafood steamboat, and opted out of the cockles. The place was crowded at dinner time. Likely to be the reasonably-priced items.
