Not sure if this small eatery has changed name, the setting of the place is still the same and the kind of food they sell are still the same, but the packaging is different.

I bought their lu rou fan ( stew pork rice) and mee sua (vemicilli).

The lu rou fan had very heavy garlic smell which I like, there are pickled vegetables and an egg inside too.

The mee sua was cooked in a good stock and was very delicious, there are condiments like shredded chicken and crab meat, you can also add some parsley yourself.

yummy!

Terribly dirty buffet restaurant OK May 14, 2012

Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Halal | Buffet

I walked over to this restaurant to have lunch after a swim at Pasir Ris Sports Complex. As it was a weekday afternoon, the restaurant was only half filled.

I went straight to get my drink first, and to my horror, the cup was dirty!
I finally managed to find a cleaner cup later after "inspecting" about 6 cups.

Then, I went to get my favourite salmon sashimi, and to my horror again, I saw two flies on the prawns(look at my picture), one is still struggling while the other smaller fly was dead! Luckily, there was not any on my salmon sashimi, phew......

I am not sure if I am unlucky that day or what, even the plate that I got was stained! haiz......

Fortunately, the fried durian balls and fried cereal prawns were very tasty, saved the whole bad experience that I had. Oh, I have to mention that the plates were cleared away quickly too.

I used NTUC card on that day and got a ten percent discount.

Not up to my expectatiion. OK May 07, 2012

I made a reservation through email and got a very nice and warm reply: Our team is excited to learn that you are coming.......

On the actual day, I was greeted by a restaurant staff (no smile), and was brought to a table next to the kitchen ( I had requested a window seat in my email), ok no big deal.

The square tables are very near to each other( see the picture).

The ice water was served only after I had made a request.

There is a coffee and tea making machine, you can self serve your cup of coffee.

They have three live stations: shellfish, curry noodle and beef steak.

For the shellfish, there are cockles, mussels, gong gong and clams. There are a few types of cooking method for shellfish, with white wine, sambal chilli or plain. I picked some mussels and gong gong and passed them to the chef to cook in white wine. The shellfish tasted really fresh and sweet.

The curry noodle soup tasted sandy, like those indian curry , I don't like this.

The beef steak is soft but too fatty.

For sashimi, they only have salmon on that day. The cooked food taste ok, prawn rolls (ngoh hiang), asparagus fry with seafood, roast duck, sambal stingray etc.

For the dessert, I only like the creme brulee on a spoon. I had three of that.

There is a 15% discount for DBS card on that day.

I have visited this restaurant a few times. If you like numbingly hot and spicy food, this is the place for you. This restaurant is conveniently located behind hotel 81 (chinatown), alight at Chinatown MRT station and walk for about ten minutes.
This restaurant has two storey, they will open up the seats upstairs during busy hours.

This is cucumber with pig's ear, good combination.(cold food)
猪耳拍黄瓜

猪耳拍黄瓜

Pork jelly (cold food), a lot of collagen and is good for our skin.
猪脚冻

猪脚冻

Shredded pork fried with flat vemicilli noodle (凉皮) (warm food) but I prefer the cold version(东北大拉皮)
肉丝炒凉皮

Fish slices(numbling hot and spicy), there are also big bean sprouts and noodle inside . We cannot finish this dish and asked the restaurant boss to packet for me to bring home.

I brought my son there because he loves to eat 小笼包, whereas my favourite dish there is their 小菜,so I ordered two plates of 小菜, 芝麻菠菜,腐竹虾饼, 红烧牛腩面 and 小笼包(ten inside). We had chinese tea, each pax at $1 (refillable).

I find the vegetables difficult for me to chew, but I still like this dish.

This prawn cake has lots of prawn pieces inside, fresh and juicy.

The beef pieces were very soft and the soup was very thick and rich, could feel the "stickiness" aftertaste after drinking the soup, the noodle was springy too, but I find this dish a bit pricey.
小笼包,$9.50
