Sake Don Smile Apr 28, 2013   (Related Review)

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

Last Friday, I went to Itacho Sushi again, at JCube.
I ordered my favourite sashimi rice, it is called the Sake Don in the menu.

The salmon sashimi on rice, served with miso soup costs me $11, exclusive of tax and service charges.
It was quite expensive for a student like me, but the quality of the dish definitely makes the price worth after all.
The portion of the rice was really big and sufficient for big eaters.
The sashimi was also very thickly sliced, and generously served.
There was about 8-10 pieces of thick sliced salmon on my rice.
I was so happy that time because I am really a huge fan of salmon sashimi tongue

The dish was served about 5 minutes after I placed my order.
The quality of the rice was very good, and the sashimis were very fresh.
Tasted awesome with wasabi and soy sauce!

Will come back again to try more dishes smile

Nasi Bryani Smile Apr 28, 2013

Categories : Indian

Had breakfast at this Indian Restaurant at Clementi, ordered their Mutton Nasi Bryani and a cup of Milo.

To my surprise, the portion of the rice was extremely huge, as you can see from the photo above.
The size of the papadams were even bigger than the size of my hands!
The mutton was very spicy but fragrant and delicious.
The rice was also very rich with the smell and taste of herbs.

Curry was provided, in case I wanted to dip my papadam in it.

Service was average, environment was very 'classy', with red tablecloths and red cushions on every chairs. The restaurant was also air conditioned. Price was slightly expensive, $9.10 for the nasi bryani and milo. However, considering such conducive environment and huge portion, it is quite worth the price.

Char Kuey Tiau Smile Apr 28, 2013

A few months back, when this shop just opened in Jurong Point, this shop was always crowded during weekends and lunch hours. Most of my friends recommends the KL Black Hokkien Mee there, but I went to try their Penang Char Kuey Tiau instead.

To my disappointment, it did not tasted as authentic was the authentic Penang Char Kuey Tiau, it was also quite oily. I was expecting, Kuo Tiau Mian, but they gave me only Kuo Tiau instead. It tasted not bad though, just not as authentic as the Penang Char Kuey Tiau.

Price wise, it was quite affordable, $6 for a plate.

Mixed Pork Noodles Smile Apr 28, 2013

Categories : Coffeeshop | Noodles

I went to Mustapha Centre the other day. I was ill, hence I wanted to search for some bland Chinese dishes instead of spicy and hot Indian food for lunch. I found this kopitiam at Sam Leong Road, many people was ordering from this stall, I was thinking to myself that this stall must be a very famous one.

I ordered the Mixed Pork Noodles from the menu.

The mixed pork noodles costs about $4 -$5.

The noodles and soup tasted not bad, the pork ingredients were given in a generous amount.
Definitely with the money with such portion and good quality of food.
One more thing - the intestines were very well cleaned.

A good try!

Udon with Beef in Tomato Soup Smile Apr 28, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

It was the best udon I had ever ate!
The freshness and sweetness of the tomato soup made me love this dish like crazy!
The soup complemented very well with the udon which was extremely spingy and chewy.
The beef was just so-so.

The price of this dish was $11.50, excluding tax and service charges.
It was slightly expensive but you will find it worth the price after eating that!!

I ate this dish 2 weeks ago, and I am now craving for it again!
Service was a little slow, but good food worth the wait!! smile
