Black Sesame Mochi Bun Smile Feb 19, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Bakery

A lovely place to buy breakfast early in the morning will be Breadtalk since they are opened daily at 7.00am.
I was really attracted to this black bun, which is called as the Black Sesame Mochi Bun selling at $1.50 each.
I wanted to buy a few for my family to try but I was too afraid that it may not taste as good as it looked so in the end I only bought one to try.

So here's the Black Sesame Mochi Bun:

The bun was really soft and tangy. Totally love the chewy feeling when I was munching the bun.
As for the filling, the filling was mochi, which was made of glutinous flour,
I really enjoyed the sticky feeling of the mochi.
The black sesame was not very sweet, tasted not bad too.

Worth the try! And worth my money.
Shall buy more next time smile

Tom Yam Ban Mian OK Feb 19, 2013   (Related Review)

A bowl of tom yam ban mian from this stall is sold at $3.50, I have tried it once that day,
I find the ban mian very thin, not as chewy as expected.
I prefer slightly thicker ones because they are very chewy and a bit more filling.
Also, the anchovies were VERY salty sad
As for the soup, the soup base tasted like those packet tom yam paste, nothing special.

To me, everything there was just average.

Chinese New Year Cookies Smile Feb 18, 2013

Categories : Peranakan / Nonya | Bakery | Desserts and Cakes

For Chinese New Year, my aunt bought us a box of Peanut Butter Cookies from Bengawan Solo.
The price of the box of cookies were not really expensive, considering the quality of the cookies and the established brand.

The metal casing was really attractive with CNY designs.
The cookies were also well packed, inside a zip-loc bag.

The cookies were also not oily and delicious!!
Very fragrant smell of peanut as well!!
The cookies were not too sweet too.

Love them as snacks, I like to eat them during breakfast with fresh milk too! smile

Really love cookies from Bengawan Solo!!

Pork Soup Smile Feb 18, 2013

I love pork but I don't fancy eating internal organs, so instead of having Pork Organ Soup,
I told the aunty that I wanted to have minced pork and sliced pork soup.
The Pork Soup I had costs me $3.80,
the price was extremely reasonable considering the huge amount of minced pork and sliced pork the aunty gave me lol!!

The portion of the soup was actually sufficient for 2 persons!!
The meat was also tender and fresh, really delicious!!!
I swear I will really come back whenever I crave for pork or hot soup smile

Of course, the yummy pork soup must go with rice!
A bowl of medium rice costs $0.50, which was also reasonable smile

Love the service there, and love the food as well!!

Mi Fen Smile Feb 18, 2013

Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Food Court

Today, I had souped mi fen for lunch.

This price of this meal is $2.20,
The mi fen was really smooth and soft, the soup was bland.
A really healthy bland meal for health freaks like me smile
Vege was given too!
The aunty was very nice, I told her to cook my egg a little longer because I don't eat raw eggs,
she was very kind and did not mind to do it for me at all smile
Portion was sufficient for a person!

Very happy with this meal!
