Decent fruit tarts OK Apr 19, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Desserts and Cakes

I've been seeing so many instagram shots of this place that it would be a pity to give it a miss since we were looking for someplace to have our tea break.

They had a wide selection of pastries with more fruity flavours. However, we weren't in the mood for fruits, we had more of a sweet tooth to satisfy. The tarts arrived shortly after we've ordered, because they need only scoop them up on a plate and draw little designs on them.

Plus points for decoration definitely. The fruit tart display shelves looked very attractive because of the colours as well. But I guess I wasn't much of a tart fan. I love the crust, but as for the cream that topped it, I scraped off half of it because it just wasn't something I fancy.

Good place for tea or desserts after meals for fans of pastries or anything creamy.

Best all-day breakfast!  Smile Apr 19, 2013

Anytime anyone asks me for a recommendation for a breakfast place, I would definitely recommend wild honey. Unfortunately, they have a no reservation policy the last time I was there, so the wait for a table for 2 took us 45 minutes on a Saturday morning.

I love the layout of the place because nothing matches, and we got the sofa seat that faced the entrance, which was slightly awkward, but still, the tables were separated well enough for you to feel like you're in a cafe, yet you have your own personal space. It is difficult to describe in words, but I'm pretty sure if you've been there, you would understand what I'm saying.

The food took another half an hour to arrive, but no complaints in that area. It was perfect and absolutely delicious! The mushrooms were sauteed to the right level of buttery, the bacon, sausage and toast were a great combination!

It was both filling and very satisfying. I will definitely be back to try their other offering on the menu because I was so spoilt for choices while staring at the menu.

This is a classic dish, and even the one I had in Bangkok couldn't compare to this one. I believe it is a fusion of Asian and Thai which made it so yummy.

This spicy glass noodles is my regular dish at Thai Express, and as tempted as I am to try other dishes, I always return to this one again. Despite its insane spicyness level, I love it. I have to eat this with at least 3 glasses of iced water, and still experience the burning aftertaste in my mouth. I have ordered this dish at least 15 times over the past 7 years, and it still remains my personal favourite.

It is coated in a sweet sauce, tossed in chili padi and other spices. Served with sliced vegetables and chicken, I would consider this to be a pretty healthy dish. Oh, and don't leave out the peanuts, which goes really well with the sauce. Leave the chili flakes out if the noodles itself is too spicy, otherwise, it is difficult to appreciate the flavour of this dish altogether.

A definite must for chili lovers out there!

Delicious burgers in town! Smile Apr 19, 2013

Categories : American | Restaurant | Burgers and Sandwiches

The Handburger was hidden from view, and I even walked past it before we finally located it. It had a very clean and simplistic layout, even the menu gave it a minimalist feel, which are so iconic of the many cafes now.

I dug in without any expectations, but their burgers were so thick and delicious.

I can never understand how people hate huge burgers, they are so awesome! The more layers the better, mine had a whole fried egg in it, and definitely onion rings. I wish more burgers had onion rings in it, because why would you want it as a side dish when it could be part of your main course?

It was a satisfying meal, the patty was done well, it did not fall apart when I bit into it, yet it wasn't overly tough. It still retained its juicy tenderness. It was a good thing it came with salad, because I always need greens to balance out all that calorie rich flavours that went into the burger.

This time for their bread bowls!  Smile Apr 19, 2013

I'm frequenting Swensens too often, now that I have their loyalty card.

Went there for a light lunch so I decided to get their soup bowl which turned out to be really filling! sad I barely finished the soup, let alone the bread bowl. All I had was the lid.

It was still yummy, and I love bread bowls because of the soft bread that you can scrape off the walls of the 'bowl', and spoon it in chunky goodness with the soup. smile All soups should be served in bread bowls! smile

Also had their Rocky Road dessert which came in a pan. It was basically a chocolate pie with a scoop of ice cream, and the waiter served it with like a butter sauce, marshmallows and chocolate sauce. So sinful, so calorie intensive, but so delicious! All desserts should taste this good!!
