So-so Muffins OK Oct 24, 2010

Bought their Walnut Muffins for breakfast.
Looks nice and tasty but it tastes only average.

Other than the crunchy walnut, the muffins has no fillings and taste buttery. However, it still tastes fresh even after storing under normal temp overnight.

I have tasted better muffins elsewhere.

Wifey wanted porridge for supper so we ended up there.
We order one huge bowl of porridge plus stir-fried lotus and onion flower with toufu.

The stir-fried lotus is crispy and tasty. Not overly-cooked with tons of oil and is taste refreshing.

The onion flower is fresh and you can taste the juice within. Crunchy and juicy. But the toufu is a little too hard due to it being left there since afternoon.

Overall, the meal is better than I have expected. Lots of China students were also there to taste their local food.

Back with more photos and reviews.

I ordered the Shishamo but was disappointed as I have tasted better everywhere. The fish is not fresh and the fish roe is tasteless. Worst, the fish is moist!

Next was Chuka Kurage. It is so-so only as the topping is not as fresh again

Last for dessert, we followed the waitress recommendation on the Daifuku(S$4.99). It is cold muachi wrapped with Japanese ice cream inside. This is something very unusual. Most importantly, it taste very unique and nice. Highly recommended!

Had their Black Pepper Beef and Tempura Set(S$16.99) and Teppan Assorted Mushroom(S$7.99) for dinner.

The Black Pepper Beef are sliced into small thin pieces, so small that I though I was having chicken meat. Luckily, the pepper sauce makes the beef outstanding. It is spicy hence not for people who cannot take spice. The Tempura is hugh and fresh. One bite and you can taste the fresh prawns within.

The Teppan Mushroom is so-so only. I think it is too wet for my liking even though the taste is nice. I guess the chef added too much seasonings.

Quick Meal OK Sep 04, 2010

Categories : Chinese

As wifey was 'all of a sudden' hungry before a movie at Cathay, we spotted this wanton stall which serves a small variety of unique wanton noodles.

We ordered the Green Wanton Noodle Set for only S$5.90.
It came with a bowl of dry noodle with plenty of minced pork and a separate bowl of wanton soups.

The noodle is springy and different from the wanton noodle which we always have.
Most importantly, the wanton is filled with meat and spinach

Not bad if you want to have a quick asian meal.
