This is my frequent hangout for healthy sandwiches, desserts and soups!

Pumpkin soup:
This is thick and creamy with generous coutons served in the soup.lol

Grilled Chicken Avocado with Brie / sun dried tomato/ portobello mushrooms
All are good and satifying with the generous chicken and fresh veg. Good to share among gals as servings are relaively large. smile

Gula Melaka cake:
This is unique and refreshing, something light and satisfying to end the meal with =)

Espresso chocolate banana cake:
This is heavy flavoured and the combination was a sure love for chocolate and banana lovers! cafe taste was not very strong, hence coffee non-lovers should be ok too.

Service is bad though, slow to order n for food to serve. Ice water are slow to top up too after countless reminders! huffy

Chilout in the east OK Apr 25, 2011
Categories : Thai | Bars/Lounges

The place was rather pack on a sunday night with soccer fans gather for football match.

Although a chillout place, this place serves simple thai and western fare. We had the fish and chips, tom yam soup, pork collar with tamarind sauce, tang hoon with prawns and thai ice teas.

The thai fare are decent; tang hoon with prawns is relatively tasteful with fresh prawns, while the tom yum is satisfying for a thai food amateur like me.

The fish and chips are too oily too taste, while the fries are too bland and dry.

Pork collar was highly recommended, however, we find it rather normal to taste. Thai ice teas are usual milk teas.

Comforting Bak Chor Mee Smile Apr 25, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Hawker Centre

This is one busy bah chok mee store in bedok interchange, operating only Mon to Sat and noodles are sold out by Noon lol

The specialty of the noodles are that they are served with baby abalone "bao bei" and the fish cakes are a combination of orange and white. The soup is flavourful, making it addictive for a 2nd helping!

This is comfort local fare at good prices that does not hurt your pockets, while satisfying your craving for bak chor mee tongue

Pasta Haven Smile Apr 25, 2011   (Related Review)

We make a reservation for this popular restaurant 2 weeks before, since it was mostly fully booked even on weekdays.

We had the table upstairs that was good as it was quiet and the ambience much better for a ladies gathering smile

We had potato with leek soup and portobello mushrooms for appetisers that was really good and light to start the dinner.

We had seafood home made pasta (creamy based), mushroom risotto and a tomato based seafood main dish. The pasta was rich in taste, scallops and prawns are fresh smile
The seafood main dish was also packed with seafood greatness, with fresh crayfish, prawns and clams. It was served with garlic bread for dipping in the tomato based soup.
The risotto is one of the best I tried so far, it is creamy and rich in flavor. As it is rather filling, it is a great choice for sharing among the group.

We ordered a tiramisu and apple crumble for desserts to go with coffee. The tiramitu is a must try, it is moist and smooth to taste. The apple crumble was not worth trying though, looks like a simple fruit cake and was overall nothing special. Coffee served; latte and cappuccino was great to end the dinner lol

Traditional Italian Fare Smile Apr 25, 2011

Categories : Italian | Restaurant | Pasta | Kids-Friendly

We had dinner at this new place in 111 Somerset after hearing relatively good reviews.

The dishes we had:

1) Anti Pasto
The parma ham & rockmelon combination was refreshing and complement well with each other =) The servings is good for 3-4 ppl

2) Grilled Salmon Spinach Salad pizza
The crust is thin and cripsy, with a good spread of fresh smoked salmon and cheese. Overall the dish is light and appetising =)

3) Roasted chicken italiannies
This is one of the recommended on the menu and was indeed proven to be a good choice. The chicken is succulent and heavy in flavor. It is served with generous sides of potato wedges and onion slices that are sweet and crisp to taste =)

4) Seafood Linguine
The seafood is generous and fresh, complementing the clam broth for the pasta, making it really sweet and flavourful. The clam broth is clear type, hence you will not het the "ger lat" feeling after a while as compared to creamybase pastas.

5) Tiramisu
The Tiramisu was decent, however overall nothing surprising or special. Serving was big enough for 2-4 to share after a meal.

6) Chocolate Obsession
This is good for one who loves mars bar! taste so much like it with the thick chocolate and crispy nutty base.
