Once Upon a Rosti Dish with sausages

Once Upon a Rosti Dish with sausages

Mrupupup visited the new food venture known as 'Once Upon a Rosti' at AXA Tower, Shenton Way, Basement 1-15. The shops sells the European pan fried potato food known as Rosti. The shop has an interesting name and is the same managment that brought us the food concept 'Once Upon a Milkshake' - which sells milkshake. The Rosti shop is nice and sells different types of rosti with sausages, bacon, eggs, ham, vegetables. If you ask Mrupupup, the shop served up pretty good rosti. Do visit the store in the evening for Shentown Way becomes much less busy. Good day and may the Fairy Godmother visits you in your dreams. For Mrupupup, may my dreams come true! Food dreams I mean....

Don's Chicken Pie

Don's Chicken Pie

Mrupupup went to the Don's Personal Pie Shop at 25 China Street (near to Chinatown area) to order their signature chicken pie and the shepherd pie. All pretty nice! Loved to eat pies. The chicken pie comes with lots of potatoes and chicken meat with an egg inside the pie (attached photo). The shepherd pie was great too! Don's personal pie club also serves crab bee hoon which Mrupupup would try if in the area again. Yummyssss! Pies, Pies, Pies !!!!

Grin affair Cake

Grin affair Cake

Mrupupup visited this little dessert shop known as the 'Grin Affair' at 3 Everton Park, #01-77a (Everton Park HDB estate). Grin Affair serves cakes in little glass jars and comes in many flavours. Mrupupup tried out the chocolate and honey lavender berries cakes. Mrupupup likes that the shop tries to be environmentally friendly by using pretty glass jars and recycled paper.

Ya Kun Kaya Toast - Oh So nice Smile Aug 15, 2012

Ya Kun Toast

Ya Kun Toast

Mrupupup felt that the Ya Kun Coffee and Kaya Toast is the best at Far East Square outlet, 18 China Street #01-01. Ya Kun at this outlet serves the toasted bread and coffee that tastes more authentic than the rest of the stores in Singapore. The Ya Kun store was super busy on a weekend morning. With such long history of making coffee and toasted bread (since 1944), there are many outlets of Ya Kun's in other countries like Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Indonesia. Anyway, Mrupupup was at Ya Kun to have a nice cup of coffee and the kaya/butter toasted bread. Kaya is a coconut based jam spread and the ingredients that goes into making this spread is a closely guarded secret by Ya Kun's. It is weird that Mrupupup has cravings for toasted bread and coffee, espcially Ya Kun's.

Yomenya Goemon at Marina Bay  Smile Aug 15, 2012

Duck Spaghetti

Duck Spaghetti

Mrupupup tried out the Yomenya Goemon Japanese Spaghetti House at the Marina Bay Link Mall (basement). This famous restaurant chain sells spaghetti done in an unique Japanese way and has a few stores in Singapore, Shanghai and Japan (of course!). Mrupupup ordered clam chowder spaghetti (loved the bowl design and seafood taste!) and tried out the duck spaghetti. The set also came with single serving of salad, apple drink and chocolate cake. The single serving of salad was stacked very high up with salads, beans, cherry tomatoes, and many, many, many lychees! The clam chowder spaghetti was very nice and creamy. The duck spaghetti was not bad (attached photo). Try not to order too many spaghetti dishes for one might get very full easily for the portions are quite big. Yummy and totally enjoyed delicious Japanese style spaghetti and also the chocolate cake. Take note the place could get crowded during meal times. Mrupupup would come again and try out the rest of the spaghetti dishes and pizzas as showed in their display like a typical Japanese restaurant. Yummyssss!
