Recently, Pizza Hut collaborated with Executive Chefs Jason Lee and Victor Tan, who have almost 45 years of culinary experience, on a new Italian and European inspired menu known as 'Chef Creations', that are innovative and unique.

exciting molten flavours OK Jul 20, 2012
Categories : Bakery | Desserts and Cakes

- The Shop

The shop offers more than 10 molten chocolate cakes with interesting flavours like Cherries Jubilee, White Chocolate, Bitter Orange, Raspberry, Peanut Butter, Lemon etc.

The small and casual L-shaped cafe & dessert bar has about 10-12 seats by the side, and 2 long tables right at the end.

They also have ice cream to pair with your cake and other pastries like muffin, scones etc

- The Food
Ice Chocolate @ $5.50

This indulgent drink served with thick dark chocolate sauce and topped with coco powder. The chocolate sauce did add fragrance to the drink, but coming from a super chocolate lover point of view, this drink isn't obscenely rich, but the sweetness was just right.

The signature molten cake @ $6.50 non alchohol | $7.50 alcochol

Original Molten Cake (70% dark chocolate) @ $6.50

The cake was soft, moist and not too sweet. Valrhona chocolate was rich and luscious. The center was thick and sticky, it will be utter satisfying if the centre was more ooey-gooey.

Cherries Jubilee (alcohol) @ $7.50

Same type of chocolate as the Original, except there were whole cherries in the molten cake.

I likes the distinct kick of alcohol in the cherries and the subtle cherry sweetness, however the centre was too creamy and thick. Personally, I will prefer a liquid lusciously melted centre oozes out of the warm cake (like molten chocolate cake from Pietro Ristorante Italiano!).

- My Opinion
I stumble upon DanielFoodDiary post on this cafe sometime back and decided to bring Lena (also a chocolate lover) to try the Baileys Premium Molten Cake and Royal Chocolate Cake.

We went there with excitement but was filled with disappointment as both items was not available for the day! We were curious why the highly raved cakes are not available on a daily base. The staff said they don't prepare all types of cakes everyday to prevent wastage as customers don't buy them everyday and we just have to try our luck because she don't know which day it will be available.

Feeling even more disappointed, we walk away to look around for other cafe. But after awhile Lena decided to try the Original molten cake because she can't stop thinking of the oozing chocolate. This time a different staff was on duty and we asked why the Baileys molten cake and Royal chocolate cake was not available, and she said it was sold out.

We were there around 3.30pm, so which staff is proving the correct info? I think it's best that you call before heading down to avoid disappointment.

- The Shop

Tucked in a corner of Shaw Leisure Gallery, just before the food court, there is a home-grown ice cream palours - Tom's Palette.

You can have 2 flavours of ice cream for all sizes, Small @ $3.20, Medium @ $4.00, Large @ $5.00. Beside ice cream, you can have milk shake, waffles and hot tea too.

- The Food
Salted Egg Yolk & Chocolate @ $4.00 (Medium)

We have the salted egg yolk ice cream, inspired by the yolk-filled custard buns in Hong Kong. It taste like the salted egg yolk found in mooncake! Surprisingly its not salty, a tad of sweetness, creamy, rich and filled with many grainy yolk. It was amazingly good, but last few sips get to be boring.

I wanted to pair it with milk ice cream as recommended by Charlene, however it was not available on that day *disappointed*. Therefore I had it with my all time favourite, Chocolate. It was quite chocolatey, but I will love it if its richer and darker chocolate was used.

Salted Egg Yolk & Quattro (alcoholic) @ $4.00 (Medium)

Derrick ordered Quattro to go with his salted egg yolk ice cream.

Quattro was flavour of the month, made with sangria, pineapple, raisin and orange. Taste very much like our tradition Chinese rice wine! Very unique in taste, try it if you are adventurous enough!

Salted Egg Yolk & Pistachio @ $4.00 (Medium)

Jacob had pistachio and I thought it was really nice like I am munching the pistachio nuts.

- My Opinion
I felt their ice cream are smooth, packed with flavour and creamy. Its not as dense and sweet as other ice cream. However their ice cream melt really FAST, you can't really enjoy them at a slow pace even in their air-condition stop. Maybe this is because they don't add stabilisers to their ice cream?

I won't say I am mesmerised or the ice cream taste deliciously wow, but hey, consider the price are inexpensive and offer a good variety of flavours, they are definitely value for money. Look out for their new innovative flavours every month that will keep you excited.

good place to unwind Smile Jul 20, 2012

Categories : Australian / New Zealand | Steaks and Grills

Visit http://www.celestialdelish.com/2012/07/outback-steakhouse.html for full review and more photos

- The Shop
The Australian themed steakhouse restaurant exudes a casual ambience and contemporary decor. The warm lighting, wooden furniture and bar setting goes perfectly with its casual, laid-back appeal.

Best known for its generous portions of just right steaks, chicken and seafood, Outback also offers an assortment of crisp salads and freshly made soups and sides.

- The Food
Cherry Limeade

The sweet maraschino cherries and tart limes mixed with grenadine and Sprite was sweet and tangy. The refreshing drink guaranteed to tickle the taste buds with its limey- sweet flavor. I simply love it!

Boston Bread

The freshly baked honey wholemeal Boston bread was addictive! The thin chewy crusted bread was light and pillow-soft on the inside. Can't decide if I should have the fluffy and lightly sweetened bread on its own or slathered with their slightly salted homemade butter. I like that nice buttery fragrance!

Ahi Tuna Chopped Salad

Not only it is loaded with healthy veggies, the dressing adds quite a punch of flavor in the wasabi vinaigrette. Topped with crispy wonton strips and savory pan-seared sashimi-style tuna coasted with black pepper. So light and refreshing.

Alice Springs Chicken Quesadila

The soft and chewy thin grilled tortilla layered with zesty grilled chicken breast sauteed with mushrooms and bacon are a succulent delight when mixed with the melted cheeses. The great flavor and texture is so good on its own that you can forget about the honey mustard sauce.

Seafood Pasta

The fettuccine was nicely cook. Shrimp, calamari and fish fillet was succulent. Definitely a good choice for non meat-lovers.

Ribs and Alice Springs Chicken
The rack of pork ribs was tender that it fall off the bone easily, wish it was juicier. Paired with grilled chicken breast topped with bacon, honey mustard sauce and sauteed mushrooms was tender but a tad salty.

Outback Special (11oz)
Outback's signature sirloin seasoned with bold spices was on the tough side for me. This could be the sirloin has a thicker cut compare to ribeye and it was prepared medium done. Personally I prefer my steak medium rare.

Ribeye

Ribeye was tender, juicer and more savory compare to the Sirloin even it was prepared medium done too. It was seasoned and seared with Outback's secret 17 seasoning blend and chargrilled over an open flame. No wonder it was more flavourful.

Dessert Sampler Trio

Sampler three of the most popular desserts, Chocolate Thunder from Down Under, Cheesecake and Banana Nut Cake.

My favourite was the chocolate brownie with ice cream, and whipped cream. Brownie was fudgy and moist, what can go wrong with ice cream and anything chocolate?

- My Opinion
The staff at this warm and welcoming restaurant are attentive and friendly. If you are looking for a place where you can unwind with your favourite drink round off with a flavorful dinner, you might want to give Outback Steakhouse a shot.

- My Opinion
If I have to pick my favourite, it will be the Crabmeat Fried Rice - so homely that I missed my mum cooking! The Laksa Aglio Olio with King Prawns is very unique, nice spice fragrant but don't taste like the usual laksa.
