Duck Confit Leg

Squid Ink Paella

Went to try out ambush the other day and I tried their duck confit leg and squid ink paella. I think it was a little disappointing as the duck confit was too salty and the seafood squid ink paella was really tasteless.

Japanese Bakery Cry Apr 10, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Bakery

Bakery serving japanese bread has always attracted me due to their pretty display of bread and cakes and at times very interesting flavours. I notices this Yuzu cheesecake the other day and felt that it was really interesting, since the store beside it offered it at a cheaper price with any ala carte perchase me and my brother shared one of it.

I was very disappointed in it. The cheesecake tasted like a block of cheese with Yuzu jelly on the top. The whole taste was very weird. I was anticipating on how they include the Yuzu flavouring in the cheesecake instead of just placing a jelly on top.

Spending per head: Approximately $4(Dinner)

Yan Ting Dim Sum OK Nov 25, 2014

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Hotel | Dim Sum | Seafood | Fine Dining

Saw Yan Ting in the list of Dim Sum places to go in Singapore and have been wanting to try. Their brunch buffet cost $98++ per pax which was not worth it for some of the small eaters in the family so we decided to order a la carte instead.

To be honest, I would feel that the overall food quality is not as nice as Crystal Jade at Takashimaya. The truffle siew mai was good and had a good blend of flavours. The liu sha bao was consistent and the liu sha had the right proportion but the bao was too moist. The chee cheong funs were nice. We ordered peking duck but the wrap was too thick and it was a mouthful of the wrap instead of the flavour of the duck skin.

The restaurant, being at st regis felt really posh and the service was good. Do sign up for the spg membership for free and get the 15% off your bill straightaway. If you frequent or want to frequent Yan Ting or other restaurants, you can consider the St Regis Supperclub which have a membership fee but enjoy 25% off your bill at any restaurants in St Regis.

I passed by Sophie Bakery the other day and heard from my friend recommend them. I bought an éclair instead of their fame fruit tart. I didn't really like the éclair as I didn't really like the texture and flavour of the cream. The service was slightly slow.

I would try their fruit tart or bread next time.

Breakfast at Teadot OK Dec 30, 2013
Categories : Café

Teadot has a breakfast set with free flow coffee and tea. The main includes its chicken pie, quiche and other. I really liked the chicken pie as the crust is very crispy and the filling taste really good. However, I didn't like the beverage as the coffee here is flat and the tea is very diluted.
