ice lemon tea ~ taste bland.
wasabi prawn, stew cabbage, tofu
Thai mango salad, sweet & sour pork, eggplant
chicken daikon leek soup
Great! Hainanese fish maw soup
We couldn’t decide on what for our dinner, we were browsing the eateries at basement of Raffles city shopping mall. We stopped at Thai Express and waited for our seats at 5+pm, nobody entertained us at the moment. Then I turned my head and saw Soup Broth Asia, it sounded new to me, without hesitation we walked to SBA. There was a waitress greeting us and showed us their menu, my friend just has his braces tightened, he doesn’t mind to have something soupy and soft. First of all, the waitress led us to the cashier counter as we needed to place our order and settled the bill prior to be seated. Menu is simple and clear, we choose our soup as main course then add on side dishes as optional. They serve 2 types of rice, either plain rice or yam rice (add $1). We chose Hainanese fish maw soup as it was recommended by the waitress and chicken daikon leek soup, opt for S$4.8 to have 3 side dishes and a drink for each person. We chose wasabi prawn, stew cabbage, soy sauce tofu, sweet & sour pork, stir fried eggplant and Thai mango salad, plus 2 ice lemon tea. We were free to sit any place as it wasn’t full at around 5+pm. Soon after we sat down, they served the drink, soups were coming up then side dishes, the table seemed too small to house all dishes, we got to play jigsaw puzzle in arranging all dishes ourselves. Side dishes tasted good, it gave me the feeling of ready-cooked all dishes for the day so it could be served immediately once patrons placed their orders. I would say the ice lemon tea was too bland to me. I am a Cantonese so having homemade broth type of soups are usual for me. What do I like this place, they display calories for each soup, ingredients they use and last but not least NO MSG. First taste of each soup, instantly I love the fish maw soup, soothing to my throat, taste just right, I kept scooping it and almost forgot about the other bowl of soup. Though taste was really good but they serve pig skin instead of real fish maw! OK, came back to chicken daikon leek soup, the sweetness of the soup didn’t approaching to both of us, plus the chicken taste somewhat unusual, obviously it was boiled for long hours but taste just not right. Confirmed no msg been used, portion wise is quite decent. Whoever wants a mix veggie cum soup meal, this could be a good choice though. A friend of mine is a regular patron of this place. She particularly likes this place because it’s convenient location. We would have meals in a period of time and she would choose this place for sure. The restaurant has changed name again as well as buffet theme. I remember my first visit of this place was a Peranakan restaurant, subsequently it has changed into different cuisines. We went there on last Sunday for buffet dinner. I noted that they were having Turkish theme this time, it has ended on last Sunday. Frankly I didn’t see so many Turkish food serving, it could be out of my sight or I didn’t pay enough attention. Anyway, I tried to recall, there was one cold dish at the salad counter, kebab, meat kofta and Turkish ice cream. Whenever or wherever I have buffet, I would still opt for my favourite food, sashimi, oyster, crab, prawns, durian pengat (if serving), if all these food are good, I would consider the buffet is a value for money meal. I hardly eat much on warm and savoury dishes, even though I eat, it could be a piece or two, will never more than that. Let me list their food serve: juice, salad, sashimi, sushi, cold soba, chawanmushi, breads, cold seafoods, BBQ meats (satay) and otah, meat kofta, kebab, chilli crab, roasted chicken, steam fish, fried Hongkong noodle, roti-prata, laksa, variety of kimchi, kueh pie ti, Indian curry, teh tarik, fresh fruits, Turkish ice cream, variety of cakes and kuehs, durian pengat; quite a variety choices. So far so good, the buffet didn’t really disappoint me, though there were one or two draws on that evening, seabass sashimi was good but the chief didn’t slice it properly, it always linked into a chain, you can’t have one or two pieces only! Teh tarik, if it can be hotter, it would be really good. I have the durian pengat last month at Café 2000, M Hotel. Literally, I would compare these 2 for quality. This time Café 2000 won. Whereby, Asia Market was a bit too sweet, durian wasn’t fragrance enough and hardly could find bits of flesh, it was too gluey! My friend has the membership card, so price is discounted to one for 2 patrons.
Seabass is fresh but don't understand why don't they slice it properly!
Chilli crab~consider big and fresh, the only draw was sauce not spicy enough.
I prefer mutton only, chicken can skip.
Sorry, quality has dropped.
If it can be hotter, it will be a good cup of tea to finish the meal.

We have been this restaurant few times. There weren't a lot of dinners whenver we were there. Having said that dinning at a prestige and full of history hotel's cafe. We would have peace in mind that they would serve quality food. Prices were in line with the food quality, we expected. Service was fine too. We ordered pork ribs and beef sandwiches. Ribs were tender, one's could taste it has cooked for long hours then could reach such texture and yet it wasn't separate from bone. The sauce was rich and yet it was light to taste, side dish of mushroom and veggie were fine. The real surprise for that dinner was beef sandwishes!!! Layers of beef slices generously served, fresh slices of tomato and lettuce in between, not to forget the lightly toasted bread. One mouthful, you would know what is called quality sandwich! Trust me, you will not regret to have it. A big plus was the potato salad at the side. They selected the creamy type of potato and boiled to the right texture, covered with creamy salad sauce, we couldn't stop eating it. The portion for both dishes were generous, if not, we would have the potato salad for extra. Definitely we would return when we were longing for quality western casual food. Perpetually long queue, once they sell out their glutinous rice, the stall will close for the day. They sell only glutinous rice with peanut then add fried onion. There are 2 types of glutinous rice, savoury or sweet to choose for.Prices are simple, $1.2, S$1.5 and $2.0. Few months ago, a friend of mine bought this glutinous rice for us to share, it was love at first BITE! I love glutinous rice and asked her where was the stall, she told me simply one could easily spot the queue, that was the stall! As we all know there are so many stalls at the Chinatown Complex Market, I was wondering could I be able to find the stall. While I was browsing, it is really easy as the stall name is telling what it is. I followed the queue, roughly waited for 15mins+/-. The lady before me was ordering 20packs at $1.2 in one go! My turn, I ordered 2x$2. Seeing the uncle’s momentum in scooping the rice + fried onion + sesame oil, it is mechanic! Glutinous rice is steam to perfect texture, rice grain is individually, crystal clear, not too soft nor hard, dancing in between your teeth! Fried onion, I would guess it is prepared by their own, they are fresh and not burnt, crumble not mashed. Peanut is soft and creamy. Overall, taste is just right, you could still taste the rice natural sweetness and yet mildly saltiness, combination of all these ingredients enhance each flavour, perfect match. Definitely worth the waiting time!
Great!rice is crystal clear when under the sunlight.
Great!fried onion is freshly made and it enhances the fragrance of glutinous rice.
Great!Plentiful of fried onion and not salty at all, taste just right.

I have heard of this restaurant famous for its crab dishes for long. Finally we came to have a feast hopefully. We browsed the food serve before we seated. Staff were friendly though. There weren't a big spread, it could be the size of the restaurant wasn't very big. Talking about this, the space between each table isn't far, if it is full house, it could be quite cramp. I was looking forward to eating their crab dishes. Cold crab legs were good and it could taste naturally sweetness, one thing wasn't too good as their refill was too slow. 2 types of sashimi serving, salmon just so so, standard was marginal. I like the other type of raw fish more. Here came to pepper crab, I would say tastes was right, crab wasn't really really fresh though, so here was a slight disappointment to us. Having said that the rest of the dishes were good. We liked the lamb chop specially. Comparatively, their dessert section was quite extensive. Don't leave the table without savouring their durian pengat, you will regret, I assure you! Overall, it was fine.
lobster bisque can skip
