Came here on a Friday night and the place is packed. We had to wait for 20 mins before getting a table.
The good news is that is beside a giant drain/ river so you can go for a stroll along the bunks first.

We order a ribs and fish with complete meal.
The mushroom soup is pretty decent and different from those at some restaurants that taste like it's out of a can.
The ribs comes in a nice presentation but the taste is average, nothing spectacular.
The fish is a little too dry, the most disappointing dish.

Overall, this is a pleasant experience, the place is great for chill out with friends over beer or wine.
The service is below expectation as the staff always seems too busy, rushing here and there.
At times, I have to wave frantically before someone notices and come over.

Great food with Great view Smile Jun 25, 2012

I brought my wife here for our anniversary. The window seats are in demand hence you will have to make a request when you make your reservation. The view here is fantastic at the 62 floor.

The waiters are very friendly and recommended a appetizer platter with a generous portion of different hams and other sides including foie gras. We love this and it goes well with bread but I strongly advise against ordering this if you only have two dinners. It will be a just nice with at least 4 dinners. We were already 3/4 full before our main course even came. Hence we had to hold back on the wine and dessert later on.

The steak is beyond expectation but the roast pork is not up to par.

In summary, it is a great place to bring your special someone and the pricing is quite value for money given the ambience atop the shenton skyline.

My friend heard of the Tasting Room and we went down to try. We ordered the beef cheek and the duck confit. Both dishes were up to expectation; especially the duck leg which the owner claimed is actually imported from France and not just any duck leg. The wine that they paired for us goes down very well with the food but the amount is just enough for a sample, from 60ml to 110ml.....

I would say that the food is good and the overall experience is good. However the price was a little pricey for a restaurant that is located at Marina Square. It just does not give the same laid-back feeling as a restaurant like Pietrasanta, that is away from all the buzz of the city hence I don't see paying the same price for my food and wine.

Good Food but bad service Cry Jun 25, 2012

I headed down to Mellben at Toa Payoh as I knew that the original one at AMK will be a long wait. My friend told me that there is two floors at this outlet and the upper floor was air-con'ed. I called up in the afternoon for a table with friends at 7pm, I asked for the upper floor with the air con. Upon reaching, I was disappointedsad that firstly there was no table ready resulting in a 20 mins wait and that the person at the other end did not take down my request and we ended up with a table out in the open. As usual, there is no price listed on its menu. The auntie keep pressurizing us to order more crabshuffy and when we decided that 2 x 1kg crabs are enough for a table of 8, she showed a black face. She subsequently recommended us a chicken dish and said it is a must try without telling us the price. When the dish came, we were shock it is not so much a chicken but a "Pen-Chai" that cost almost a hundred bucks!huffyhuffyhuffy A simple dinner ended up with a hole in our pocket due to bad service and borderline cheat tendency from the staff. The crab at this branch is also not as good as the one at AMK!! I will never go back to this branch again.huffyhuffyhuffy
