Dessert After Dinner Smile Dec 26, 2012
Categories : Italian | Ice Cream and Gelato

After our dinner, we headed for dessert @ Gelateria Italia at level 1 Bugis+ shopping mall. We ordered one scoop each of gelato and sat down to chat for almost 2 hours. We went chatting until 11 plus pm.

The gelato was smooth and delicious. I love my deep-chocolate flavour and mango flavor that my friend ordered. Another colleague ordered malted barley ice-cream which i don't really like. This is my own preference. I love sweet things and i love the combination colour of the chocolate and mango. Doesn't it look gorgeous? smile

The staff was friendly. They will provide us free tasting for some of the flavours when we requested before we confirm our order. So basically we choose, the staff scoop and we paid at the cashier counter. Payment by cash only for this branch. So make sure you have enough cash on hand before you start to enjoy your dessert.

It is located at level 1 Unit #01-07, Bugis + and just next to Coco Ichibanya restaurant. The varieties of the display ice-cream flavours will definitely draw you over to have some after dinner.

The price starts from S$7 onwards

First Try on Indian Foods OK Dec 19, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Indian

My friend was craving for Indian food. So i google searching for nice reviews on any indian restaurant in town. We are not a fan to indian cuisine thus little research need to be done before we choose the right one to try.

On another hand, she was pregnant with the second child. Thus, explain to her craving on Indian food. We decided to try Tandoori Restaurant at Serangoon Plaza. It is a walking distance from exit H from Farrer Park MRT station. So it wasn't hard to find.

The staffs are attentive to us as the whole restaurant was only occupied by 2-3 tables only. They are prompt to our request and the foods are served withing 15 minutes.

Tandoori Chicken (Quarter) S$9.90
Spring chicken marinate with the spices and cream and grilled in clay oven. Thus explain the fragrance of the tandoori chicken when it is served. The outer layer of the chicken was nicely grilled and the texture of the meat is tender and smooth. I don't really like the taste of the green sauce. So i prefer the original taste of the chicken.

Cheese Naan S$5.50 per pc (slice into 4 pieces). It is home-made cheese and mozzarella cheese stuffed in the bread. You can taste the strong taste of the cheese. I am not a cheese lover so i don't really enjoyed it. But my friend tasted it and love it instantly.
& Garlic Naan S$ 3.50 (Slice into 2 pieces). Leavened bread with garlic which i personally love it very much.

Naan is best to go with butter chicken. Butter Chicken S$ 17.00.
The butter chicken is marinated chicken cooked in thick, rich, creamy gravy.
Superb taste! It is not spicy at all. Not to mention the texture of the chicken. It is tender and chewy to enjoy. However, the price is quite pricey for the portion given.

Ramen @ RamenPlay OK Dec 18, 2012
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Ramen

Finally a decent dinner after a long week packed with workloads. This is my first time trying Ramen Play which is under the same company as Breadtalk & Toast box.

My colleague ordered Chicken Katsu Ishinabe @ S$12.80.
It's the combination of the succulent chicken cutlet and tantalizing eggs in a sizzling stone pot screams wholesome delicious goodness to our stomach. It was still sizzling hot when it is served and she was satisfied with the taste.

Cha Shu Shoyu Ramen S$9.80
Slices of cha shu with the shoyu base ramen soup. The shoyu base is a bit oily for me but the overall taste is nice and not too strong nor too light

Another colleague of mine ordered Pork Curry Ramen S$13.80.
Coated with crust, crispy pork cutlet to go with spicy-sweet curry ramen.
The portion of ramen is kinda small but the big portion for the pork cutlet.

We ordered appetizer while waiting for our main course to served.
Lobster Golden Bites Salad S$6.80. Simply delicious and refreshing! It is a fresh combination for me as the combination of green cabbage with lobster salad is simply splendid!

Tasty Negima (Chicken & Leek) S$5.00 for 3 pcs.
Nicely grilled with the sweet sauce on the chicken and the leek.
Awesome!

Spicy Shoyu Ramen S$10.80.
This is the choice of Celine aka my new colleague. It is superb fiery & spicy flavored coupled with shredded cha shu and choice vegetables. (Photos can be found from my blogpost)

We also ordered Gyoza as ala carte as well. The outer part of the gyoza skin is a bit hard at the below part but the inner ingredients are rich and tasteful. When you eat it with the layu, it gives u another taste of the beauty of gyoza.
We got this plate of gyoza for FOC as we spend the min S$60 and foot the bill using DBS debit card.

The place is nicely decorated and design. Simple, modern and classy environment. The staffs are attentive to us and follow up on the order closely.

As for the payment wise, we will need to take our order list and proceed to the cashier counter to make payment.

Lovely Salad Smile Dec 17, 2012
Categories : Bakery

Headed to Yishun for unfinished business with my friend yesterday after I back from JB. The timing was just nice for dinner and she wanted to treat me dessert.
So we headed to Bakerzin. Menu list can be found from the website as well.

Since she needs to be back home for homecook dinner, I opt for Chef’s salad from the menu list. I am glad to choose this salad and it’s exceptionally refreshing and delicious for me. The combination was rather special than the ones that I had before.

Chef’s Salad @ S$13.50
Slivers of honey baked ham, roast beef, turkey, Spanish red onions, dried cranberries and walnuts tossed with a homemade dressing and topped with a hard-boiled egg. You can have the crunchy bites when u bite the walnuts, the lettuce with the baked ham, roast beef, turkey and the red onions blew me away. I don’t like the taste of the onions but the smell and taste of the onion is able to cover up with the combination. Totally not dried at all. Seatfu loves the walnuts especially.

Dessert is a must to cheer one’s mood. Especially chocolate as it is my favourite for all time. We decided to go for Warm Chocolate Cake @ S$11.50 per serving. The service staff informed us that the serving time takes approximately 10-15 minutes for this dessert.

It’s Bakerzin signature molten chocolate cake served with homemade vanilla ice-cream and fresh berries. The presentation is nice but not the vanilla ice-cream. It was melting when it is served. I believe that it has been placed a while before they served it out to us. The taste does not disappoint us though with the combination.

It was a pleasant dinner with great companion. We had a good catch up session over the dinner. The staff are friendly to the customers and they put on smile when they attend to us.

Definitely a good place to dine in and have a long conversation with buddies and friends.

A date with Domino's Pizza Smile Dec 17, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Italian | Pasta | Halal

It has been ages since I last tried Domino's Pizza.

It was truly a sinful experience where we are served with various choice of pizza and ala carte from Domino. Extremely Sinful especially the Lava Chocolate !!

We were brief on the introduction of Domino's Pizza first. It is founded in 1960 and is the recognized world leader in pizza delivery. Domino's is the world's leading pizza delivery company committed to the leading the industry in product quality and operational excellence.

Extravaganzza in crunchy thin crust which is quite spicy for me.

Classfied Chicken in Crunchy Thin Crust
Smoked chicken breast, onions and mushrooms on top of the thin crust.
It's one of my favourite list and you just can't stop having it once you started. It's addiciton.

Meatzza which consists of Smoked Chicken Breast, Turkey Ham, Chicken Sausage, Cabanossi, Beef Pepperoni & Ground Beef. It's my favourite all time. I always order this with thin curst skin for my overtime dinner choice.

Hawaiian Paradise which consists of 100% mozzarella cheese with smoked chicken breast, turkey ham and pineapple. This is majority all time favourite and suits the taste buds of Asian people.

The golden roasted drumlets which are nicely baked and served pipping hot in the packaging.

Crazy Chicken Crunchies (Tom Yam flavor)
The ala carte is paired with the salsa sauce with turn out to be quite nice. The chicken crunchies do not taste dry if you intend to have it without sauce.

Garlic Cheese Onion Rings.
It is baked and not being fried at all. But nevertheless the taste is still as par quality with the fried ones.

This is the highlight of the day. I superb in love with the Lava Chocolate Cake. You can't resist the temptations to finish everything in a second. The serving is generous and it is still warm when it deliver over. I personally tried it when i take away for my dinner time.

It was a group of blogger event with the food tasting with Domino's Pizza. It was a pleasant experience to get to know Domino's Pizza well.
