Larger space, more expensive food Smile Sep 03, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Sushi/Sashimi

This is my 2nd visit to the sushi bar. They had taken over the unit beside them which make the restaurant more spacious. Maybe because of the larger space, the prices on their menu had also increased.

Tako Sashimi - 4 thick pieces of octopus sashimi. It was quite fresh and juicy.

Chicken cutlet curry rice - The chicken cutlet was well seasoned and it was not too dry even though it was deep fried. The curry sauce tasted a little sweet but it does mix well with the cutlet.

High Tea @ Din Tai Fung Smile Sep 02, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Dim Sum

Went for a quick bite at Din Tai Fung. It was around 3.30pm in the afternoon so there wasn't a long queue which you will normally see during lunch or dinner time.

Golden Crispy Prawn Pancake - The sliced pancake was crispy and it was filled with minced prawn paste.

Steamed xiao long bao with crab roe - The skin was thin. The " soup" within the xiao long bao was rich in crab roe flavor.

Fully Loaded Pizza Smile Sep 02, 2013

Categories : Pasta | Halal

Was having a craving for something cheesy for dinner, so decided to fulfill my cravings by having the Trio Cheese Pizza by Pizza. When i reached the restaurant, i saw a promotion which is for their new Fully Loaded Pizza. Instead of filling cheese into the crust, the fully loaded pizza had minced chicken & spinach filled in the crust. Thought that it was quite interesting, decided to give it a try.

Ocean Catch Fully Loaded pizza - The crust with the minced chicken & spinach reminds me of deep fried wanton. It added on to the flavor of the pizza but not to overwhelming to cover the cheese & seafood taste.

Beef Noodle Smile Aug 16, 2013

Categories : Hainanese | Hawker Centre | Noodles

Got to know about this beef noodle stall around 10 years ago when I was still serving NS. It is located in the Golden Mile Food Centre, which is better known as Army Market.

Mixed Beef Thick Bee Hoon Dry - Mixed beef parts such as sliced beef, beef stomach, tendon etc served with thick bee hoon and a very thick brownish sauce. The thick brownish sauce was just nice, not too salty nor blend. The sliced beef was really tender and parts like the stomach and tendon was really chewy and does not have any foul smell of intestine.

One of the four heavenly kings, the steamed cake is soft and fluffy. Strong fragrance of the black sugar but it is not too sweet

The skin was thick and the prawn was huge and fresh.

sounds like a weird combination but it was actually quite matching!

I would not say that they are the best dim sum restaurant that you can find in Singapore but they definitely do live up to their name as a Michelin star restaurant.
