Good Food, Nice Place Smile Jul 01, 2013

Had my lunch at Zac's Restaurant.

Hibiscus Drink - Sour but refreshing. Tasted abit like ribena but with a floral taste.

Moroccan Soup - Although the soup was quite clear, but it had quite a strong taste of mutton. Quite a fair bit of vegetables which you can find in a minestrone soup.

Lamb Shank with Rice - The lamb shank was huge and very tender. You can literally tear off the meat with a fork. The rice was nicely cooked with very nice olive favor.

Overall it was quite a nice place to dine in.

Not that delicious OK Jun 19, 2013

I was having a hard time to decide where to bring my fiancee to celebrate her birthday. After receiving some feedback from my colleagues, decided to bring her to Delicious Cafe.

Watermelon & Lychee Blast

Watermelon & Lychee Blast

It was very refreshing. It tasted kind of weird initially as you literally can taste watermelon and lychee.

Chilli con Carne Cheese Fries with Melted Cheese

The chilli topping tasted more like curry to me and there was only a very small portion of melted cheese.

Aglio Olio Spaghettini with Seafood

It was quite tasteless that my fiancee kept adding salt to it. It was kinda of dry too.

Chargrilled N.Z Black Angus Sirloin Steak

It was served with mashed potato and a few sticks of grilled asparagus. The steak was tender.

Besides the food that needs improvement, I think they also need to improve on their staffing. Imagine on a Friday night whereby the restaurant around 70% occupied, but there were only 3 waiting staff.

Maison Kayser OK Jun 18, 2013
Categories : French | Fusion | Bakery

Had my lunch at Maison Kayser located at the basement of Scotts Square.

Ordered their Croissant scrabble egg set lunch which comes with a soup.

Soup of the day (Tomato soup) - The soup was quite watery and sour. Since i am not a fan of tomato, this soup does not suit my taste buds.

The set lunch - The croissant was crispy at the outer layer but really soft inside. It had a very strong buttery taste. The scrabble egg & the bacon was quite normal.

The first time i visited this restaurant was because of my cousin's wedding. I found the food very nice so decided to bring my fiancee to try them out.

The service staff was very friendly. The moment we were brought to our seat, the staff asked us what kind of tea we would like. I thought serving free chinese tea was very common in chinese restaurant, so i asked for the chrysanthemum tea. Never that i thought that the pot of tea actually cost me $12! I think it would be better if the staff remind us before we ordered rather to catch me off guard when i received the bill. Other than this ordeal, the food was really good.

Pig’s Intestines with Preserved Vegetables in Soya Sauce
Braised with soy sauce, the pig intestine was soft and chewy. They cooked it really well as it does not have the foul smell of intestine at all. ( $9.90++)

Sautéed Prawns with Pineapple - Deep fried prawn sauteed with sweet and sour pineapple sauce. Even the pineapple was deep fried and it really goes well with the prawns. Highly recommended ( $18++)

Braised Squid, Bamboo Shoots and Mushrooms in Thick Soup - I am a big fan to thick soup. The squid was fresh and chewy. The thick broth was sweet ( due to the freshness of the squid) and the bamboo shoots & mushroom add on to the texture of the soup. One thing to note that they only served this soup in 4 pax serving. Well, it was really good so even with only me and my fiancee, we managed to finish to the last drop! ( $18++)

Pepper Chicken Breakfast Meal Cry Jun 12, 2013

The New Pepper Chicken Breakfast Meal

I had always enjoyed the Big Breakfast meal from MacDonald. Saw this new breakfast set and decided to give it a try but it turned out to be disappointing.

The breakfast set comes with the usual bread, scramble eggs together with the new items; Bacon and pepper chicken. The Bacon was quite hard and oily. The pepper chicken reminds me more of the original chicken from KFC but it was quite spicy.

Think i will stick with their Big Breakfast meal next time .
