Ramen Ten Cry Aug 10, 2012

I tried the spicy salmon ramen and the spicy level was just right for me (no excessive perspiration). The salmon was
minced and had a slight fishy taste which demoralised me a little.
Lzw had the teriyaki beef ramen which looked not too bad. The soup had the beef taste.
Hzy had the spicy miso chicken ramen. Nothing special anyway.
Swj had the spicy chicken karaage ramen. The soup was already spicy, but not spicy enough for him. He spammed the
spices which caused me to cough upon drinking it.
Cql had the japanese curry katsu dry ramen. This was the only dry ramen dish among the 6 of us. Being dry has its own
tastiness. Surprisingly, it was rather tasty.
Gbk had the oyaku chicken ramen, which was an almost non-spicy dish. Soup should be those normal type, with the
added flavor of the chicken in it.

My dad order his grilled fish set and his chawanmushi came the first. I have always liked the silky and custard-like
texture of chawanmushi. Grilled fish was never my liking as I always thought that the fish meat would always be hard. I was
wrong this time as the meat was rather tender and fragrant, without any hint of being burnt.
My mum ordered this special ramen. The bowl was rather interesting as from the top view, we could not see the ramen at
all. All we could see was a rather thick broth with crab meat, spring onions, mushrooms and traces of oil. The noodles
were hidden at the base and it felt like eating ramen from a shark's fin soup. Both my brother and I order the black pig don set. Uncover the pile of eggs on top and you will be amazed by the quantity of black pig meat. The meat were thick and fragrant and coated by a casing of crispy flour. I really loved chewing the meat and it sure tasted better than the first time I had eaten black pig from another restaurant. At the end of the meal, each of us were given some complimentary slices of fruits and a warm cup of brown rice tea. The tea had an earthy flavour and it was said that it would aid in our digestion.

The Connoisseur Concerto OK Aug 10, 2012

My bro had ordered the strawberry espresso dream. 4 pieces of marshmallow with strawberry sauce on the surface. A blend of strawberry and espresso below.
My mum tried the berry nutty. Well, a blend of berry and nuts flavour. Crunchy, sweet and soothing.
I tried the marble cheese coffee. A blend of mild saltiness from the cheese and sweetness from the drink. I enjoyed the bits of cheese which I let, melting in my mouth as I chewed them gently. We ordered the shrooms bite to share. It tasted like chicken pie, but more of the mushroom taste. It was served quite hot (the pastry acted as a cup which contained the ingredients). I liked eating the crispy pastry from the top and biting off the loops towards its base (layers by layers).

Cowboy's Tavern OK Aug 10, 2012

After ordering our meal, I helped myself with 2 bowls of soup. The cream of mushroom tasted quite alright and goes well
with the bread. The homemade minestrone on the other hand was diluted but contained sufficient and limited
ingredients. Tsa did not try any soup as he did not like the choices available. There was a wide array of drinks to choose from. From a Nescafe dispenser which have 6 choices to choose from, tropical pineapple juice, mango peach juice, ice lemon tea and a series of soft drinks were also available. Tsa kept going for the tea with sugar instead of other drinks. Maybe some people after marriage may tend go into uncle's style? I hope I won't. Tsa set was a pile of mashed potatoes, 3 mussels, a piece of salmon and a chicken cutlet. There were 3 types of sauce available. Black pepper, mushroom and tomato. Most people would go for the black pepper for added spice. Unfortunately for Tsa, he went to order the wrong set, not the set he had wanted. He do not eat salmon and mussels. I helped him with his salmon but as for mussels, I also did not want. As for my set, it consists of mashed potato, fish cutlet, chicken cutlet and a couple of tempura prawns.I actually took the mushroom sauce and the black pepper sauce. The chicken cutlet was so large that I needed 2 times of
black pepper to cover its top surface (lightly covered, not too excessive). I liked the mashed potato as it was the only
non-fried food I had. The tempura's flour was a little too thick for my liking.

Olive Vine Pasta Fusion Cry Aug 10, 2012

The 1st disappointment was the soup itself. We that the soup came merely from the can and we did not expect much. There were crispy bread pieces in the soup which added some crunch. My friend ordered the fruit punch and I ordered the ice lemon tea. The drinks tasted not too bad and came in giant mugs. (Drinks served in giant mugs were awesome as they could
last through our entire meal.) I ordered the pasta which comes with a few pathetic slices of dory fish. The pasta tasted bland and I have to get the cheese from else where to add into my pasta. After adding plenty of cheese, it still tasted horrible. My friend ordered the dory fish which comes with potato salad and 2 slices of garlic bread. The fish and garlic bread was
normal and he skipped his potato salad. There were 3 choices of dessert to choose from. Besides the carrot cake, we tried the chocolate cake. It really tasted as dreadful as it looked. The chocolate sauce was as black as squid ink and my friend kept complaining that the chocolate taste was too overwhelming. As for me, I choose the tapioca cake as I did not want chocolate nor fruit cake. It really looked like it can be bought from some hawker centre. It tasted quite normal but it was too hard for my liking.
