My Pumpkin Rice ($1.50) that went with a bowl of Ginko Pork Tripe Pepper Soup ($5.50). The rice was really tasty by itself and I could have easily gobbled up 2 bowls. Traces of pumpkin and dried shrimps could be found in the rice. The soup was peppery and spicy! Perfect choice during a rainy day when you wanted to sweat it out. Those ingredients were definitely not my liking as I ordered it just for the peppery soup. They were too chewy and weird for me to handle! I tried dipping the ingredients into dark sauce and they tasted much better. Continuously dipping them made the dark sauce diluted as soup kept dripping in. I don't mind going back again to try out other soup variety. (A good news for soup lovers like me because the soup was refillable!)

Finally I was not the one choosing the place to dine and I just be a follower to Lkj's choice of place. As he mentioned
that he had eaten from this restaurant a couple of times before, it was not surprising that he had porridge in mind the
moment he looked at the menu. As for Ngy, he decided to have this noodle. (My bad for not remembering the names of all the dishes, as my mind was really filled with awe after the Avergers movie!) Bad lighting made the noodles looked unappetising even though he said that the dish was great. Pjj had the fried fish, with ramen of course (I did not take picture of the bowl of plain looking ramen as Ljq and I also had ramen). No comments at all which made me having to think hard of what to type. Anyway, looked quite dry and too much excess flour to me. As for me, I had the spiced beef with ramen. Thin slices of beef with jellied-looking fats visibly around, adding additional dimension to its flavour. I had to add some chili oil into my soup for a tingle of spiciness because it tasted too bland. Lkj said that the beef was much tastier than the usual beef dish that he normally order (not sure which) As for Ljq, he decided to have a higher-class looking wanton noodles soup. I doubt he enjoyed eating it, maybe also due the space constraints. (Heard more comments about the lack of space instead of his food from him.)As for the shrimps chee cheong fan, we ordered to share among ourselves. With the slightly oily gravy, it was a typical Chinese restaurant dish that tasted not too bad. I had a little bit of shrimp and luckily my allergy did not kick in badly. (Washed down the itch with a warm cup of chrysanthemum!)

Secret Recipe Cakes Cry Aug 12, 2012

Ocf decided to try a slice of mango delight as dessert. Same as our meals, the desserts were served on white plates
which gave us the impression that hawker food was served on disposable paper plates. The cake was really
disappointing because of the plain sponge, plenty of cream and few pathetic slices of mango within.
As for me, having known that their chocolate banana cake is popular, I decided to try out its new chocolate strawberry
cake. I realised that all their cakes actually looked really horrible, messy and unevenly textured. Presentation wise would
definitely fail. As for the taste, I felt that it was a mismatch and was not as good as the chocolate banana. The surface
(chocolate part) of the chocolate cake was sticky and I totally got sicked of the cake after eating halfway. (I did not finish
it!)

Just Acia OK Aug 12, 2012
Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Noodles

I met up with a friend that day for dinner at Dhoby Ghaut and we decided to eat at Just Acia (known for having free flow of drinks and ice cream with set ordered). Anyway, the food was really not too bad. I had the deep fried dory fish with
melted cheese on rice set while Skk had the creamy chicken spaghetti set. After our mains wasn't all about spamming on drinks and ice cream as we were refined beings. (Do not choke, thanks.)
Once seated, we were given a mug and a ice cream bowl each for our free flow. Good thing there was a basin where we
could wash them if we decided to change our choice of drinks or ice cream flavors. (You would not want funny mixtures
going down your throat as you are not in a lab.) What greeted my sight first was not the row of drink dispensers and ice cream, but crowds of people desperately queueing up. Anyway, there was no hurry and I waited for the crowd to clear before helping myself with the drinks. The hot beverage dispenser was quite popular with uncles? Not exactly! Who could resist a mug of root beer float? Half of my mug was actually filled with vanilla soft serve and the stupid foams kept forming in my mug uninvited, which I had to keep removing in order to fill my mug up. I shamelessly took 3 servings of this though.

Awfully Chocolate OK Aug 12, 2012
Categories : Desserts and Cakes | Ice Cream and Gelato

Where do I go when I have a chocolate as well as an ice cream crave? Awfully Chocolate, a supposedly 2 in 1
satisfaction for me. Ice cream was served to me in this little box-like packaging with a small handle. I did not exactly close
the box up to try placing my fingers through, and I doubt that anyone would carry it that way. (Maybe for little kids to
play around with?) I was quite disappointed when I received this one scope of chocolate ice cream as usually when anyone order, they were given at least 1 and a half scope. Eating the ice cream itself was like eating chocolate, and vice versa. Thick, sticky, rich, chocolaty and sinful!
