The Manhattan Fish Market OK Aug 10, 2012

Categories : American | Restaurant | Seafood

My friend add on the soup-of-the-day, which was cream of mushroom and a can of soft drink to his main course. As for me, I
did not add on as I did not want the mundane cream of mushroom soup. His set was the seafood platter which includes 2 prawns, some sotongs, fish fillet, fries, garlic rice and some vegetables. It sounds like a spread but actually a single person can finish all up. I ordered the herbs fillet (forgot the actual name) as I did not want to eat too heaty food that day. I changed the vegetables to fries Fries and garlic rice means more carbohydrates for me to gain weight. I asked for more mayonnaise
as the fries were too dry by iteself. The fish covered with herbs was real tasty, maybe also due to the fact that I like herbs flavoured food. The aluminium foil also contained the 'juice' and also the oil of the herbs-soaked fillet.

Sweet Spring OK Aug 10, 2012

This outlet had close down but I still write about it anyway. My friend and I ordered the pork ribs noodle for $5.90 each. It was a new dish, and it tasted quite bland and slightly oily. It contained a fair and sufficient serving of pork ribs to go with the noodles. The pork ribs also tasted bland. If only there were spices or pepper that we could add into our soup. We also ordered the bean curd skin roll with seafood and chicken for $3.60 to share. We liked this dish more than the noodles itself. The bean curd skin was crispy and fragrant and it goes well with the fishcake-like fillings inside. For desserts, we ordered the pudding combo for $5.90, which includes the caramel pudding, strawberry pudding and the durian pudding with red bean.
We actually split the servings into 2 portion. Our eating style was the same. We started tasting all 3 pudding first, and we ate the most horrible first and kept the best for the last. I dislike the strong eggy taste of the caramel pudding and ate it fast. Both of us felt that the red bean did not go well with the durian and we ended up eating the pudding separately. The strawberry pudding was sweet and we took our time savouring the berry taste.

Buffet! OK Aug 10, 2012

They had little swordfish sashimis left, and I wiped all up. My friend who did not try this before came late, and I left 1 piece for him to try. This time, instead of eating with soy sauce alone, I tried adding a little wasabi. A minor spicy would do for me as I was still learning to eat it. Overall the food was not too bad and desserts fared quite well to me. The durian mousse is quite popular I supposed as people kept coming back for more. I ended up eating 7 glasses of durians.

Sakura International Buffet OK Aug 08, 2012

My friend and I went to Sakura International Buffet for a meal and I decided to be a member of the Sakura group and I paid about $40 and got the membership instantly. The graphic on the card is quite cute and it can be used as an Ez link card.
There is a large selection of sushis and I avoided taking any, as rice is rather filling. There are a huge variety of cooked food and most of them I do not really fancy anyway. For example, as above, I find those food rather common and they are cooked just to make people full quickily. I go buffeting with the purpose of getting full as well as reaching the value. A whole poached salmon lies on a pile of 'garden'. As I am a fan of salmon, I could not help using the tongs to dig some soft flesh out from its body. I tried every dessert that was available and everything tasted ordinary.

Cakes OK Aug 08, 2012

I ordered the green tea and red bean cake. (Forgot the actual name) Both the green tea and red bean tasted mild and I
felt like I was eating flavoured green tea and red bean cream cake. My friend ordered the lemon cheese cake. It has a mild lemony taste and it tasted more creamy then cheesy. A cup of hot tea went well with our cakes as we lazed around watching people walked past.
