Crab Shack Smile Aug 08, 2012   (Related Review)

The following week, my friend and I came back to Crab Shack to try out other dishes. This time round it was rather crowded
as last Friday itself, it was advertised on 'HDB Tai Tai 3. We decided to try out different dishes this time round. This time round, both of us ordered the fish and chips for $6.50 each. We were tempted by the large serving the previous
time we came when we saw a lady eating it. My mayo ran out rather fast and I wanted to ask for more, but seeing how
busy the staffs were, I decided not to. We shared a plates of cheese fries for $3.50. The bad thing about this kind of food is that the top layer always tasted so good because of the cheese and mayo. The bottom is always plain and not enough sauce, and we ended up not finishing it. We also shared the calamari rings which costs $4.50. After eating about 2 pieces each, we found that the flour was too thick and ended up removing the flour and eating only the calamari.

Crab Shack Smile Aug 08, 2012

I ordered the crab baked rice for $6.50 to try out. Based on the menu, I realized that it was not highly recommended, but
the chicken baked rice was, how odd. It was not too bad and it contains some chunks of crab meat and crab sticks. My friend ordered the crab spaghetti for $7.50 and it was rather worth it. It is also popular among people as there are a couple
of fleshy crab pincers in it. Although the pasta looks really in a mess when it was served, it tasted not too bad. If only
we could have more cheese...After our meal, we decided to share the desserts. We ordered the home-baked chocolate brownie for only $2.90. It comes with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream which I found not enough to go with the brownie. The brownie was surprisingly soft and it was really sinful. I find the chocolate sauce quite messy when it was served.

Ji De Chi OK Aug 08, 2012

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Restaurant | Chinese Desserts | Desserts and Cakes

After the movie, my friends and I went for desserts at Ji De Chi (remember to eat?). I ordered the durian shaved ice which looked rather majestic among all the other desserts. A pile of durian pulp was placed at the side, making it looked kind of disgusting. On the other side, there were pomelo pulps which I did not like because they were bitter, and a pile of yogurt balls. I loved the feeling of these balls bursting in my mouth, although it did not go well with the shaved ice. One of my friend had the yam paste with pumpkin and ginkgo nuts. A sweet and comforting dessert. Another had the mango sago ice. Strong mango taste and refreshing. My other 2 friends ate the black sesame paste with glutinous rice ball and the peanut soup. Taste wise were pretty normal.

Sorbet Sets Smile Aug 08, 2012   (Related Review)

It was quite a large set as compared to the others. (Maybe sorbets were cheaper as compared to ice cream.) Both the
strawberry and mango flavours were sourish and reeked of fruitiness. It was kind of difficult to eat at first as they were
really sub zero frozen. I kept impaling at the sorbets to quicken its melting pace. Do not be surprised if you can't finish
them as they were really filling.

Chocolates Smile Aug 01, 2012

After the buffet at Straitskitchen (Hyatt Hotel), daddy brought us to Mezza 9 to buy a box of chocolates. It was so sweet of his sudden gesture as that day was mummy's birthday. He picked a box that could fill up 25 chocolates and let mummy choose. My brother and I also picked some as chocolates were meant to share! It was really a sweet moment back home when we enjoyed the lovely chocolates. It was a hard choice trying to pick the chocolates. They were kind of expensive and we hoped that they tasted good. Some chocolates we picked were repetitive as the chocolates were too small to split and share! Mummy love chocolates with nuts and that was why so many of them contained nuts.
