Secret Recipe Cakes Cry Aug 12, 2012

Ocf decided to try a slice of mango delight as dessert. Same as our meals, the desserts were served on white plates
which gave us the impression that hawker food was served on disposable paper plates. The cake was really
disappointing because of the plain sponge, plenty of cream and few pathetic slices of mango within.
As for me, having known that their chocolate banana cake is popular, I decided to try out its new chocolate strawberry
cake. I realised that all their cakes actually looked really horrible, messy and unevenly textured. Presentation wise would
definitely fail. As for the taste, I felt that it was a mismatch and was not as good as the chocolate banana. The surface
(chocolate part) of the chocolate cake was sticky and I totally got sicked of the cake after eating halfway. (I did not finish
it!)

Cafe 820 Cry Aug 12, 2012

One of the day which I did not have much appetite, I decided to try the chicken pie. The dull look described my dull
feeling at that time. The pastry was flaky as I split the chicken pie. A perfect resemblance of a broken heart with (fillings) feelings revealing and flakes (of tears) showering the plate.
Another time I decided to have a dessert to cheer myself up. It was as bad as my feelings was. Plain vanilla ice cream
was in fact cooling and calming but had a problem. It was served on a plate and the sliding and flipping of it was
like a blank mind of mine, having thoughts wondering nowhere as the void took control of it. The apple pie was hard,
had pathetic amount of apple slices, was quite torturous to eat. With a negative mind, everything that would be
generated by it would also turn out negative. (That can't be helped!)

Buffet Cry Aug 12, 2012

The spread was rather limited but sufficient to make a person full. They had curry chicken, fish (really salty that day that
we could not stand it), egg/chicken salads, 2 appetisers, rice, ice cream, fruits, marble cake, 2 soups and other strange
dishes that we have not tried before.
So far, their naan bread were the best! Nyx thought the same way too and both of us ate at least 4 pieces each. The naan
bread were not from the buffet spread but was served to us in a 'basket' while they were still warm and crispy. Spackle of
herbs could be seen on the surface of these delicious bread.

Ramen Ten Cry Aug 10, 2012

I tried the spicy salmon ramen and the spicy level was just right for me (no excessive perspiration). The salmon was
minced and had a slight fishy taste which demoralised me a little.
Lzw had the teriyaki beef ramen which looked not too bad. The soup had the beef taste.
Hzy had the spicy miso chicken ramen. Nothing special anyway.
Swj had the spicy chicken karaage ramen. The soup was already spicy, but not spicy enough for him. He spammed the
spices which caused me to cough upon drinking it.
Cql had the japanese curry katsu dry ramen. This was the only dry ramen dish among the 6 of us. Being dry has its own
tastiness. Surprisingly, it was rather tasty.
Gbk had the oyaku chicken ramen, which was an almost non-spicy dish. Soup should be those normal type, with the
added flavor of the chicken in it.

Olive Vine Pasta Fusion Cry Aug 10, 2012

Categories : Italian | Middle Eastern/Mediterranean | European | Food Court | Pasta

The 1st disappointment was the soup itself. We that the soup came merely from the can and we did not expect much. There were crispy bread pieces in the soup which added some crunch. My friend ordered the fruit punch and I ordered the ice lemon tea. The drinks tasted not too bad and came in giant mugs. (Drinks served in giant mugs were awesome as they could
last through our entire meal.) I ordered the pasta which comes with a few pathetic slices of dory fish. The pasta tasted bland and I have to get the cheese from else where to add into my pasta. After adding plenty of cheese, it still tasted horrible. My friend ordered the dory fish which comes with potato salad and 2 slices of garlic bread. The fish and garlic bread was
normal and he skipped his potato salad. There were 3 choices of dessert to choose from. Besides the carrot cake, we tried the chocolate cake. It really tasted as dreadful as it looked. The chocolate sauce was as black as squid ink and my friend kept complaining that the chocolate taste was too overwhelming. As for me, I choose the tapioca cake as I did not want chocolate nor fruit cake. It really looked like it can be bought from some hawker centre. It tasted quite normal but it was too hard for my liking.
